Having pure physical strength reach this level was already pretty impressive, which was stronger than the base stats of some races in the Dragon Ball universe.
But compared to Saiyans, there was still a huge gap.
Just how strong are Saiyans, anyway?
When Nappa, with a power level of 4000, first arrived on Earth, he absolutely dominated.
Going up against human armies, he could tank planes, smash through tanks, even ram right into battleships with just his body.
He could even take Chiaotzu's self-destruction head-on and come out without a scratch.
There's a reason why Saiyans are called the warrior race, they can transform into giant apes, and their power levels are high from the moment they're born.
Physically, Saiyans rank among the very best of all races.
When facing an opponent of the same power level, a Saiyan's insane physique would let them crush their enemies.
And if the enemy's power was higher than theirs?
Well, no problem! Saiyans still had their trump card: transforming into giant apes.
'Go ahead, be ten times stronger than me, see if I care!' this basically summed up their thought process in facing a stronger enemy.
By the era of King Vegeta, the Saiyan race was already in decline, their former glory long gone.
"Not even at 100? I thought these Astartes were supposed to be something special!" Russ muttered, a little disappointed after hearing that number.
He'd thought these Astartes, whom the Emperor himself was so proud of, would at least have a starting power level of five or six hundred!
As it turns out, they were only a bit stronger than the tribe's own warriors, but not by that much, fromthe looks of things.
And still no match for this kid, Axis.
"It's not that bad. Their physical capabilities are at least ten times that of normal humans," Axis said.
Regular humans only had a power level of five.
That was benchmarked against a strong adult male. Even Goku, when he first appeared, only had a power level in the low teens.
After a bit of basic training with Master Roshi, and awakening his Saiyan bloodline, Goku's power level only just broke into the hundreds.
"In our tribe, which warrior has a power level below ten? If you can't even hit 100, how can you be ten times stronger than a regular human?" Russ retorted.
If it's really ten times, shouldn't it be at least above 100, maybe up to 200? That's what ten times should mean.
He was definitely a bit let down.
Axis rolled his eyes. 'Did you even hear yourself?'
You're comparing Fenrisians to regular humans from other worlds in the Imperium. Why not compare them to Catachan Jungle Fighters while you're at it?
"People from Fenris are generally two to three times physically stronger than outsiders. Regular humans elsewhere only have a power level of five. So strictly speaking, Fenrisians have at least twelve times the basic stats of normal humans, maybe even more," Axis explained.
"But they still can't beat you!"
"That's true. They can't beat me," Axis admitted.
"O Great Lord… have we disappointed you somehow?" At this point, the Space Marine of the Sixth Legion standing off to the side was completely at a loss.
Axis and Russ's conversation was overheard by the nearby Space Marines.
What was going on here?
They'd just met, and already their Father by Genes was expressing disappointment in his own children?
And what was with this "battle power" stuff? Did he just say their power level was lower than some kid's?
At that moment, the Space Marines of the Sixth Legion all gathered around.
They were already excited to finally meet their 'father' in person, but hearing him say that their battle power wasn't even as high as a child's made it a bitter pill to swallow.
And to make things worse, even that kid admitted it!
Sure, the people on this planet were tough, and the environment was brutal, but looking down on Astartes because of that was just too much!
"Don't get me wrong, my Children," Russ said with a broad grin. "It's not about you personally. I'm just saying, none of you are a match for Axis here. Compared to this kid, you're all falling way behind."
To him, there was nothing wrong with these words, he'd always encouraged the warriors of his tribe like this. "Look, not even all of you together could beat Axis. You're still not doubling your training every day?"
He thought it was a motivational speech!
But to the Space Wolves present, it cut deep. O mighty Father of Genes, what are you saying?
Do we really disappoint you that much?
Saying our battle power isn't even as high as some kid who looks about seven years old?
How were they supposed to respond? Challenge the kid to a fight? If they lost, it would be humiliating, but if they won, that'd be even more embarrassing!
Axis was speechless at this point.
'Seriously? Russ, since when did you start quoting Master High School roasting? Did you have to roast everyone so thoroughly, just straight up taunting the whole squad?'
"Great Lord, you may not know this, living on this primitive world, but we Astartes are the pride of humanity," said the Sixth Legion's company captain, stepping forward.
He was the same Astartes whose power level had tested at 93, the strongest among the group, and a veteran of the Emperor's Unification Wars on Holy Terra.
He was one of the earliest Astartes.
"I'm just telling the truth. You really aren't a match for Axis, he's my most outstanding little cub. But don't worry, I'll train you all well in the future, make you even stronger. Everyone in the legion had better break through 100 battle power, at least!" Russ declared.
'If you're all ten times stronger than an ordinary human, then you'd better live up to Fenris standards!'
"Please board the ship, Lord Primarch! We'll make sure to look after this battle-brother of yours. Once he officially becomes an Astartes, we hope you'll let us see for ourselves just how terrifying his battle power is," the Sixth Legion Space Marine said, giving Axis a rather unfriendly look.
They weren't about to pick a fight with a seven-year-old kid right now, but since he had such a close relationship with the Wolf King, he was definitely going to receive the Astartes gene-seed surgery one day.
When that time came, he'd get a real taste of the Sixth Legion's old traditions.
They were going to make sure he got a proper lesson. Just wait until this kid was all grown up!
"Hahaha! If you're interested, I could have Axis spar with you right now," Russ offered cheerfully.
Letting Axis put these children of his in their place wouldn't be so bad.
"Come on, Russ, let's not keep the Emperor waiting. We still have some gifts to deliver! Hey, Space Marine over there, come help move this stuff!" Axis quickly interjected.
'Come on, cheap old man! Could you stop painting a target on my back?
'I'm not even seven years old yet, and you're making me suffer things no child my age should have to deal with.
'Now I've got the whole bunch of Astartes gunning for me.'
