The next morning…
The sound of sirens shattered the morning silence. Several police cars and ambulances were already lined up around the scene. Yellow police tape stretched out, blocking curious citizens from getting too close.
Officers were busy inspecting the area while forensics took photos and secured evidence.
Amid the crowd stood a girl in a school uniform—Yagami's classmate, the one he had saved the night before. Her eyes were swollen from crying, her body trembling from guilt and shock.
"I'm sorry… Yagami…," she whispered, tears slowly falling down her cheeks.
Not long after…
"Onii-chan…" A soft voice broke the tense atmosphere.
Hiyori Tsukihara pushed through the crowd, her face full of panic and worry. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw the body of her brother, now covered with a white sheet.
She couldn't speak. Her knees gave out as she collapsed onto the ground.
"Onii-chan… why…"
She cried in silence, staring at her brother's lifeless form.
One of the officers approached, trying to comfort her. But Hiyori just stared blankly, her grip tight on a piece of paper Yagami had left for her the night before. A simple letter that read:
"Big brother loves his little sister."
And then, with a weak and quiet voice, Yagami looked at his crying sister with a faint smile and said:
"Hiyori… I'll always love you..."
he whispered before his body went limp, lifeless.
Hiyori froze. Her eyes widened, unable to believe what had just happened. Then, her tears came flooding out.
"Onii-chan!! Don't leave me... ONII-CHAAAN!!"
she screamed hysterically, hugging her brother's bloodstained body tightly.
Tears streamed endlessly down her face. Her cries echoed through the dark room, accompanied only by the silence of Yagami's lifeless body.
"If only... I could live again... I swear, I will find you, Hiyori. I promise... I'll find you again,"
Yagami said in his heart, slowly fading into darkness after his final breath.
But in the emptiness and silence of an unknown realm, a faint light began to appear.
His memories began to flash back…
Warm memories...
Sitting at the dinner table, smiling as he fed his little sister, her cheeks red with embarrassment.
Their gentle laughter. Hiyori's happy face.
The warmth of their simple home, filled with love.
"Hiyori..."
he whispered softly, before everything turned blindingly white.
Yet in the midst of that deep void…
A warm light enveloped Yagami's lifeless body.
Then… he opened his eyes.
But the ceiling he saw wasn't his bedroom's.
It was made of carved stone, dimly lit by flickering candlelight.
His voice wouldn't come out. His body was small… weak… tiny.
"Huh…? I'm… a baby?" he thought in confusion.
He looked at his hand—so small and pale, strands of white hair covering part of his vision.
And yet… his face, his form, still felt familiar.
"My hair… it's the same as before… but this… this isn't my world…"
Around him were unfamiliar voices speaking in a language he didn't know…
But strangely, their meanings were clear in his mind.
"Congratulations, my lord and lady! Your baby boy is healthy!"
said a woman who appeared to be a nurse or maid.
Yagami realized something:
He had been reincarnated.
Born again… in a world not his own.
But even though his body had changed, the resolve in his heart remained the same:
"Wait for me, Hiyori… I will find you… no matter what world you're in."
After gently cleaning the newborn, the midwife carefully placed the tiny Yagami beside his mother—a young woman with a gentle face and long hair. Her face was pale from exhaustion… yet filled with joy and emotion.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she gazed at her newborn child.
"My baby… thank goodness you're born safely…" she whispered with a trembling hand, caressing Yagami's soft cheek.
Suddenly, the door burst open.
A man in simple noble attire rushed in. His face was filled with worry, which immediately turned to relief as he saw his wife and child safe.
With wide strides, he approached and looked down at the baby boy.
"Is… our child a boy!?" he asked, eyes gleaming with excitement.
The maid beside the bed bowed and replied with a smile:
"Yes, my lord. Healthy and strong. Just as you hoped."
The father gripped his wife's hand tightly, then looked at his son with pride and wonder.
"This child… will be the light of our family."
Meanwhile, Yagami could only stare at them with his baby eyes, slowly growing heavy.
"So… this is my new family…"
"Do I… have a second chance at life?"
Years passed…
The baby who had once been reborn into another world had now grown into an eight-year-old boy. His name in this new world was Kazuki Altherion, the legitimate son of the renowned noble family, Altherion.
In the vast garden of the grand estate, Kazuki sat on a bench, gazing up at the bright blue sky. A gentle breeze blew through his distinctive white hair.
"Now… my name is no longer Yagami… but Kazuki Altherion. My only purpose in this world is to enjoy myself…"
he said with a faint smile, hiding the pain of his past.
Not long after, from across the garden, appeared a young girl with long silver hair, wearing a noble training uniform. She was Lycia Altherion, Kazuki's older sister—known for her discipline and talent in swordsmanship.
"Kazuki! It's time for sword training!" she called out sternly, tossing a wooden sword toward him.
Kazuki caught the sword with one hand and stood up from the bench.
"Alright… Sis," he replied calmly.
The two began training in the estate's open courtyard.
The rhythmic clash of wood echoed through the garden, a testament to the harmony and strength of their sibling bond.
