Chapter 1 - Dear Me

Inside a room adorned with all kinds of jewels and precious minerals, there was a maid wiping the forehead of a pale young man with long silver hair and azure eyes that were about to close, void of life.

"T-T-hank you for staying until my last moments, Adriana," he struggled to say before finally closing his eyes, only to see a smug smile as his final sight.

'Damn this household, not one is my ally,' he cursed as his final thought.

Just as the maid went out, a breath of life entered his body. His skin began to regain its complexion, and his hair became bright silver. Death began to leave his body as life entered it.

"Argh," he groaned as he stood up from the bed.

"Well, hello, new Realm," he said as the look in his eye changed.

In a moment, two memories began to merge in the body of the young man. A noble who was conned and taken advantage of by his entire family, losing to the political strife of the kingdom, and a sovereign who ruled over an entire Realm, who just found himself in this new world in this new body.

"Isn't this a delight? How unlucky," he sighed before waving his hand toward the cup of water beside him. To his surprise, it did not move.

"Oh, right. Damn, I'm powerless here, alas," he sighed once more before remembering how the power works in this world.

As he went back to his memory, he found out that this Ultimate Realm has the power of all other Realms. It is connected by Gates which can only be opened by Keys.

He saw a vivid memory of his brother's Invocation, opening a Gate from which a black dog came out. A dog that can breathe fire and enlarge itself to twice its size.

He also remembered his sister's Incantation, opening a Gate from which a ball of fire came out, burning its path.

"So, if a creature gets here from a Gate, they will be able to use the powers they have from their Realm, but because I came here by who knows how, I cannot use mine. Dear me," he sighed as he wrapped himself in his situation.

"Wait-- maybe I can Invoke an ally from my Realm?" he spoke aloud just as the door opened, having the maid enter it.

The sound of cups shattering on the ground filled the room as the maid dropped what she was holding in shock. Realizing her situation, the shock immediately turned to killing intent as she knew that her ploy had just been discovered.

"Damn," Zael cursed as he saw the maid point a Key to him that appeared out of nowhere.

{Gate of Venorbis: Poison Mist}

A greenish and purple Gate opened in an instant in front of her key, from which a trail of poisonous mist appeared that shot itself at Zael.

'No way that I'm going to die when I just got here,' he thought before willing a Key to appear in his hand as well.

Maybe it was the experience of his body or the sheer intent he had, or the combination of both intuition and the past of this new body of his, but he was able to call upon his realm.

{Gate of Avaely: Luna}

As he called her name, the Key in his hand cracked before shattering. Only then did a life-sized Gate open before him, revealing a beautiful lady with long hair the color of the moon and bright silver eyes that seemingly contained endless radiance.

"Luna, it's me. Leave no trace," he ordered as if having done it so many times.

Without missing a beat, the silver-eyed lady waved her hand, creating a shattering force that turned the maid to dust. In a single breath of hers, the poison mist was gone as well. Just like that, everything was taken care of.

"Goodness me, Zael. You left Avaely just to be this pitiful?" she mocked with a sweet smile.

"Oh, please."

"In any case, I only have a few seconds left. Since the poison mist remained even after the maid died, I assume that even if I'm gone, my power will remain here --"

Just as she said that, the Gate released a massive force to suck her back in. At that moment, her consciousness split and merged into a clone she made that contained half her power. However, even though her main body was returned to the Gate, it continued sucking her in.

She was undeterred, though. At last, with a clone that was only a hundredth of her original strength, she managed to stay.

"The things I do for you. Summon my real self when you get stronger."

"Ha, I don't know if I can. Invoking you broke my Key to Avaely. I must find a way to fix it first, or find another person with another Key to your Realm."

"My Realm? You have gotten quite accustomed to this world already, haven't you?" she teased.

"Tsk. It's this damned body and all its habits," he sighed before sensing that there is only one Key left in his Intus, the place where all the Keys are stored in oneself.

"Well, you have plenty of work to do. From what I can see, you just broke a vessel of your power because of a fight with a maid."

"Keys can only Invoke individuals within a certain threshold of strength. Of course, this threshold increases as my authority increases. Ah, right. Authority, that is the 'power' in this Realm. Basically, you are powerful when you manage to harness powers from the other Realms, and Authority allows you to harness more. The same goes for Incantations. Everything here runs on authority. No wonder it is filled with Kingdoms, Empires, and Dynasties."

"How cumbersome. Too many steps to go to for a spell," she said before waving her hand, making the cup of water from the table fly toward her.

"Poor you," she teased with a wry smile.
