After college ended for the day, Aanya walked home slower than usual.
Every word Aarav had said still echoed in her heart.
> "That's why I want something different for myself. Something real. Something mine."
"Starting with you."
She hugged her bag close to her chest, heart thudding softly.
There were no more doubts. No more confusion.
Aanya's POV
I think I've been waiting for someone like him my whole life.
And now that he's here... I don't want to run anymore.
It's time.
I'm ready to tell him what my heart has known for a while now.
That I'm falling for him. That maybe... I already have.
At the same time, in his own room, Aarav stood by the window — guitar untouched for once.
Aarav's POV
She looked at me today like she knew.
And maybe she does.
She's not just in my songs anymore — she's in everything I see, everything I feel.
No more waiting.
No more teasing from behind a smile.
It's time I tell her.
Everything.
He picked up his phone and typed:
Aarav
"Hey, I was thinking…"
"I want to take you out. Just the two of us. No music room. No college hallway. Just you and me."
"A real date. A romantic one."
His heart skipped as he hit send.
Aanya's phone buzzed. Her eyes widened as she read the message, a soft smile spreading across her lips.
She typed back without hesitation.
Aanya
"Yes. I'll come."
Then, after a pause, she added:
"And I've never been on a real date before… so make it special, Aarav."
His reply came instantly:
Aarav
"I promise, Aanya. It'll be the kind of night you'll never forget."
Aanya's POV
Tomorrow, everything changes.
And somehow... it feels exactly right.
The night had never looked more beautiful.
The sky was clear, the stars shimmering like tiny whispers of fate. A soft breeze carried the scent of roses, and the full moon cast a gentle silver glow over everything.
Aanya stepped out of the cab and stopped in awe.
Before her stood a quiet rooftop garden — lit with fairy lights, soft music playing in the background, a small table set for two with candles flickering gently beside it. Rose petals trailed along the walkway.
Her heart fluttered.
And then… she saw him.
Aarav, standing under the moonlight, wearing a black shirt and the warmest smile she had ever seen. In his hand — a single red rose.
"You look..." he paused, eyes locked on her, "...like my favorite song finally came to life."
Aanya smiled, her cheeks glowing pink. She walked toward him slowly, each step pulling her closer to the moment she had secretly dreamed of.
They sat, they talked, they laughed. But time faded.
Because somewhere between the music, the quiet glances, and the brush of fingers across the table… they both knew.
This wasn't just a date.
This was the moment.
After dinner, Aarav stood and held out his hand.
"Dance with me?"
There was no music now — just the night, the stars, and their racing hearts.
She placed her hand in his, and he pulled her close, swaying gently.
Aarav's POV
I've waited for this moment every single day since I met her.
And now that she's in my arms... I don't want this night to end.
He looked into her eyes, voice low and full of emotion.
"Aanya..."
She looked up.
"I'm in love with you. Completely. Hopelessly. Honestly."
Her breath caught — and then her eyes softened like a sunrise.
"I love you too, Aarav," she whispered.
"I think… I always did. I just didn't know it yet."
They stopped swaying.
Everything went still — except their hearts.
And then, slowly, Aarav leaned in. Aanya closed the space between them.
Their lips met in a kiss — tender, slow, full of everything they hadn't said for weeks.
A promise.
A beginning.
A forever.
Aanya's POV
I thought love would come in storms or sparks.
But this...
This came like moonlight.
Soft, silent, and unforgettable.
And I knew, right then and there…
I had found home.
In his arms.
In his love.
