Lana said pointing at the maid standing closest to her holding a piece of fabric.
She wasn't going to lay down her life for someone who wanted to harass her, if she was going down she must carry one of them with her
Kairos stared stunned, as she didn't hesitate to point fingers at anyone just to save her own neck, the fire and determination in her eyes to drag anyone down with her, intrigued him
A smirk played on his lips
"Is that so?" He said
Walking towards her like a predator stalking his prey
Lana could feel sweat dripping from her forehead her heart heavier with every step he took towards her, her eyes darted around the room taking note of every design in the room just to avoid his intense gaze
She wondered why he was walking towards her instead of the maid, she gulped down silently praying for her neck
Kairos came to stand in front of her, bending his back to meet her gaze, she had beautiful hazel eyes he thought. Looking at her stained skin that was exposed by the torn dress, she looked fragile
He chuckled as he noticed her tremble, under his scrutiny
Lana shrunk back, his gaze burnt her skin, she didn't like the way he looked at her yet she couldn't protest the last thing she wanted is an off with her head in his hands, her mind flashed back to the night she saw a head roll
A shiver ran down her spine
Kairos raised his hand to touch her exposed skin, making her shrink even further, the determination burning in her eyes were suddenly replaced with fear of him, he frowned dropping his hands
"Which of them touched you" he asked
Lana's eyes widened at his question
"Answer me Lana" he said his deep voice echoed through the room
Looking at the maids, who manhandled her the arrogant looks on their faces suddenly turned pale
"Your majesty we...we were only following your orders to clean her up but she was resisting" one of the maids said falling to the ground, the rest followed
Lana furrowed her eyebrows, were they trying to pin the blame on her now, she quickly glanced at the tall overwhelming man, seeing the deep frown on his face she glanced away
She has had enough heartache for one night
"Lana" he called making her jerk up
"Y...yes" she answered gulping down the fire
"Answer me who touched you" he repeated
Sighing Lana suddenly felt sorry for the maids but she couldn't do anything, she was also very terrified of the man and didn't want her head rolling, slowly she raised her fingers and pointed at the maid holding the torn fabric
"Guards"
Two guards stationed by the guest room, came rushing in "I don't want to stain my hands with blood before breakfast take her away" he said pointing at the maid
"Have mercy your majesty" the maid cried as the guards dragged the weeping maid away, the two were left in their kneeling position trembling they prayed not to be next, they didn't heed to the girl's complaint because they heard she was a prisoner of the dark Lord if they had known he cared for her they would have been more careful
"You two" Kairos called
"Yes your majesty"
"Go prepare the bath...I'll take care of the rest myself" he commanded
Lana's eyes widened, did she just hear right?, take care of what himself.
The maids quickly stood up scurrying into the bathroom to prepare the water
Now they were alone in the room, Lana gulped clutching the torn dress closer to her chest, Kairos walked to the chair positioned close to the bed, he sat down gazing at her observing her every move
Lana shifted uncomfortably on the bed, was he going to keep looking at her like if he just looked away once she would vanish
She prayed she could do that, if she was truly a witch she would have hexed her way out of the terrible nightmare, soon the maids came out
"The bath is ready your majesty" they said bowing
"Good you can leave"
Kairos stood up, looking down at the girl "get up and follow me"
Lana staring intensely at the bed post closed her eyes she wanted to resist but she knew better than to get on this man's nerves, slowly getting up she was about to take her first step when her legs gave out and she landed on the floor
Whimpering, she wanted to cry out of frustration now she wasn't only scared, she was embarrassed. She wished the ground could just open and take her whole
Kairos stared down at the girl, if it was someone else he would have been irritated but looking at how she would rather stay on the ground, he didn't even know what to think
Bending down he picked her up carrying her princess style.
