Chapter 8 - The New Cycle (Chapter 2)

"Hehe, big sister is off now!" Yanran skipped out the door like a child who'd just received a treat, her footsteps light and playful. In a blink, she had vanished into the night like a wisp of smoke.

"Whew… finally gone."Bai Yufei sighed in relief and clambered down from the bed. Activating his sharpened senses—almost like an inner x-ray vision—he began scanning the room's layout.

It wasn't large, perhaps eighty square meters at most. Yet despite its size, the room held all the essentials. A modest kitchen, a compact bathhouse, and opposite the bed stood a window, on whose sill sat several withering pots of flowers.

"So this really isn't Earth…" Bai Yufei murmured, wandering aimlessly forward. His observations over the past few days had confirmed the truth—this world was not his own.

Confusion. That was all his heart knew now. Each step felt numb, though his tiny bare feet touched the cold, tiled floor, he felt no chill.

He approached the window and stood silently before it, his small figure bathed in silver moonlight. No one could know what thoughts drifted through his mind.

Tonight, the moon was especially bright. The cold light streamed through the window, washing over Bai Yufei's skin—and as it did, something began to shift. His body slowly began to glow, first faintly, then ever brighter.

Within minutes, the impossible occurred.

Bathed in moonlight, Bai Yufei's body began to turn translucent—like glass, like water, until he shimmered faintly against the dark.

Then, the pale silver glow radiating from his body began to shift, morphing into a soft green. And as that light grew stronger, the withered flowers on the windowsill responded—as though awakened from a long sleep. They began to glow as well.

A miracle unfolded before the still child. From the flowerpots, tender green sprouts emerged, pushing through the soil like newborn stars. These strange new plants grew rapidly—twisting, stretching, transforming into verdant species Bai Yufei had never seen before.

They spilled from their pots, trailing down and crawling up the walls of the room, weaving a shimmering green tapestry across every surface.

Soon, vibrant buds emerged atop the foliage—scarlet, gold, violet, blue—and within moments, the room was awash in a riot of blossoms. Their fragrance filled the air like a forgotten dream.

And at the center of it all stood Bai Yufei, now ablaze in emerald light.

From the haze of that glow, one could barely make out his figure—but there, before the flowering walls, his transformation had not stopped. His hair had grown, cascading like liquid silver down his back, waist-length and flowing gently despite the stillness of the air.

The light danced along his pale strands, giving him the look of something divine—serene, beautiful, unearthly.

Yet still, he stood unmoving. His expression tranquil. His eyes closed, as though lost in the quiet embrace of the moonlight.

Time trickled past. The moon began its descent.

And then—A blinding pulse of white light erupted from Bai Yufei's body.

It flared so fiercely that for a moment, the entire room seemed swallowed in brilliance.

Then the light began to fade… and the infant was gone.

In his place stood a youth—seventeen, perhaps eighteen years old—his silver hair falling like a waterfall behind him, his presence at once radiant and solemn.

The boy opened his eyes. And the night… held its breath.
