Chapter 4 - Gravity Magic

Lucian later back onto the cold stone floor, rubbing the sweat from his brow. "Man, I'm tired," he muttered, his voice dry with fatigue. "That was pretty exhausting for some reason."

He flexed his fingers, still tingling with the residual vibration when he caused moss to float. It wasn't just physical, there was something deeper, something draining about tuning into the frequencie. Like reaching into the very core of the world and using some mysterious energy .

He let out a long sigh, closing his eyes as the cave's hum settled around him again. "Feels like this magic stuff isn't just magic," he thought

Despite the weariness weighing down his limbs, a stubborn spark of determination inside him. "But let's not give up. Not now, slow progress is for the best."

He curled up against the stone wall

And with that, exhaustion finally claimed him, the quiet sound of the cave a steady heartbeat in his dreams.

Lucian woke to the familiar hum vibrating beneath his skin, muscles still sore from yesterday's effort. He dragged himself through his workout routine—push-ups, squats, steady breaths, but his mind was already fixed on the glowing moss clinging to the cave wall.

He approached the moss, eyes narrowing with a mix of curiosity and skepticism. "Alright, let's try something," he muttered. "If this is some type gravity magic, then maybe I can just crush it—make it get crushed under some heavy force."

He clenched his fist and focused, trying to out overwhelming weight to the moss, imagining it crushed beneath an invisible pressure.

But the moss barely trembled. It floated, quivering lightly, but refused to collapse or break apart.

Lucian shook his head, a wry smile tugging at his lips. "Yeah, no. Crushing it like that? Doesn't feel right. It's like trying to squeeze a marshmallow."

He exhaled slowly and let his hand drop.

He glanced around the cave, the silence a patient challenge. "It's gotta be about something else.

"Alright," he muttered "if crushing it didnt work, maybe I need to try something else. What if I add actual weight as a example, worth a shot?"

He scanned the cave floor until his gaze landed on a jagged rock. Leaning down grabbing it, feeling its rough edges against his palms. Holding the rock in one hand and the moss in the other, he focused on the frequency he felt, trying to link the two.

"Let's see if I can make the moss 'feel' the stone's weight," he whispered, concentrating hard.

The moss trembled, then slowly began to collapse, as if the invisible weight of the stone began to press down on it. it collapsed, folding inward until it was crushed beneath the imagined heaviness of the rock.

Lucian's eyes widened in surprise. "Huh. That actually worked."

A sly grin spread across his face. "So this isn't just about pushing or pulling—it's about transferring force, weight... influencing how things respond to pressure, I might be a damn genius."

He tightened his grip on the stone, feeling a surge of excitement course through him. "This changes everything."

His mind raced, imagining what that could mean. If he could use gravity, even just a little, the possibilities were endless. He could pin enemies to the ground, maybe he could float, or even crush things like the moss with invisible weight.

The following day, Lucian woke with a new sense of purpose in his mind. The idea of gravity magic wasn't just a some theory or concept anymore—it was a tool. He was determined to put it to work, starting with his workout routine he has been doing for the past month.

He stood in the center of the cave, muscles still sore but ready. "Ok so, if I can make the moss feel weight, then maybe I can do the same to myself, hopefully this works," he muttered to himself.

He focused, reaching deep into that strange, humming frequency his body felt and responded to. Slowly, a faint, purple gravitational aura began to glow, flickering around him. The air thickened, as if someone put a pounds of sand on him, adding weight without a single physical object in sight.

Lucian struggled to stay upright as the pressure increased, feeling his muscles strain under the heavy pull. "Okay, this is... different, I'm surprised it's fucking working" he grunted, dropping into a squat. The added weight made every movement harder, every breath heavier.

But with each rep, his body he struggled. The purple aura pulsed brighter with every lift and squat, swirling around him like a flame of power.

"Using gravity magic like weights," he said, panting between reps, "this is going to change a lot things. I can train harder, get stronger, faster maybe.. all without actual weights, I wished I could see what I looked like, not like I have a mirror in this damn cave."

As Lucian pushed through another set of squats, the purple gravitational aura swirling instensly around him, a sudden wave of exhaustion crashed over his body. His limbs trembled, muscles burning in pain nothing like before. The weight pressing down felt heavier all at once, the magic itself was dragging him to the ground.

He staggered, dropping to one knee, gasping for air. "Shit," he muttered, teeth clenched. "Maybe… maybe I pushed it too far."

A dull ache settled deep in his chest spreading like a wildfire throughout his body. The magic, so raw and wild, was draining him faster than he expected. His inexperience was catching up, and the price of forcing the magic for a long time was clear.

Lucian rubbed his arms, the faint glow of the purple aura flickering weakly around him. "That was a close one, nearly killed myself there."

Tuning into in the frequency his body feels when using gravity magic he try's to lessen its effects, slowly the purple aura dissipated around him

He swallowed hard, trying to steady his breath. "I need to learn how to control it better. Not just using it around like some toy, it's best to get some rest."

Lucien lays down on the cold stone floor and succumbs to sleep and exhaustion, the silent caves dripping with water calming him to sleep.

Lucian woke to lingering aches in his muscles, the memory of yesterday's effort still fresh in his mind. He sat up slowly, flexing his fingers and testing the small subtle, humming magic in his body. The cave was quiet, the moss's green glow flickering around.

"Alright," he muttered, yawning as he stretched, "I should take it easy this time. Can't let this magic kill me before I even figure it out."

He started his routine, but dialed it back, fewer push-ups, slower squats, and longer breaks between movements. When he reached for the magic, he did so gently, letting the purple gravitational aura swirl faintly around his limbs instead of glowing so bright. The pressure he created was lighter, just enough to add challenge without draining him completely dry.

He found a rhythm, a few reps with the aid of gravity magic, then a pause to let the power settle, breathing slow and measured. He listened to his body, watching for the first hint of tiredness, refusing to let his stubbornness push him too far again.

Between sets, Lucian studied his gravity magic, letting his mind wander. "If I'm really using gravity," he murmured, "then there's gotta be more to it than just making things heavy or light."

After his careful workout, Lucian sat cross-legged on the cold stone, eyes narrowed in thought. "Alright, let's say I'm not just training let's say I'm fighting." He glanced at the cave wall, imagining a person charging at him.

"What could I do?" He flexed his hand, purple energy flickering around his fingers. "If I can add weight, maybe I can pin someone to the ground, just like the moss." He pictured an invisible force slamming down on an opponent, making them collapse under their own body's sudden heaviness.

He stood and faced the wall, raising his hand. He focused, imagining the force spreading out, and pressing down. The purple aura extended from his palm, latching onto a loose stone and flattening it to the ground with a satisfying thunk.

A grin spread across his face. "Hell Yeah!, that worked."

He thought further. "Well i did make the moss float? If I could make something lighter..." He picked up a small pebble, willing it to float. The magic pulsed, and the pebble wobbled upward, hovering shakily a few inches above his palm.

Lucian's eyes widened. "That could be usefulthrowing off someone's balance, making them float, or even just catching myself if I fall."

He tried to combine the ideas, imagining a push and pull, crushing and lifting, rapid changes in force. He flicked his wrist, focusing hard, and the stone shot upward before slamming down, driven by the surge of gravity magic. The cave shook with the impact.

Breathing hard, Lucian wiped sweat from his brow. "Okay, so if I can control it like that, uhhh….maybe I could even create a shield type of thing? Smake the air in front of me dense, like a wall of gravity."

He raised both hands, concentrating until the purple aura thickened before him. The air seemed to shimmer, and he tossed a pebble at the barrier. It slowed midair, dropping to the floor.

He smiled faintly. "That'll do."

He slumped back against the cave wall, chest heaving with effort but mind alive with ideas. "I guess these are Combat spells? gravity pin, gravity lift, gravity shield... There's a lot I can do with this."

Lucian chuckled quietly to himself, shaking his head back and forth. "Man, these names are fucking awful," he muttered. "They need some flair. Something… cooler.

He tapped his chin, pacing slowly in the dim lit cave from the moss, the purple aura flickering softly around his fingers. "Alright, the shield spell… 'gravity shield' sounds pretty lame. What's it really doing? It's stopping stuff, holding it back…" His eyes lit up. "Stagnation. Yeah, that's better. It's like stopping movement, trapping force in place."

He made a slow, deliberate motion with his hand, imagining the shimmering barrier again. "Stagnation it is."

Next, he thought about the lift spell, the one that made things float. "Float. Short, simple, to the point. No bullshit. I like that."

He raised his hand and flicked his wrist, sending a small pebble drifting lazily upward. "Float."

Finally, the pinning spell, the one that crushed things down with invisible weight. Lucian grinned wider. "Anchor. That's perfect. It drags down and holds tight, just like an anchor on a ship."

He clenched his fist, the purple aura swirling fiercely. He tuned into the gravity frequency and imagined "Anchor."

Stepping back, Lucian nodded approvingly. "Yeah, these are way better—short and sweet, punchy. Makes the magic feel… serious."

He glanced at the moss lying quietly on the cave floor and then back at his glowing hands. "Now all I gotta do is practice Stagnation, Float, Anchor… I'm gonna make these moves my weapons."

He took a deep breath, feeling the magical frequency in the air "At least i got these spells down for now, tomorrow I'll practice more. "One month down….at least"
