Chapter 15 - Kunal Confronts Adhvik

Roy Textiles

Lunch break had just ended. The air still felt heavy with tension as employees returned to their desks, silently bracing themselves for another round of CEO fury.

Just then, Kunal walked into the building with purpose.

He headed straight for Adhvik's office, where yet another round of scolding was underway—Sana, on the receiving end, looked utterly deflated.

The moment she saw Kunal, her expression shifted from misery to relief. Adhvik, surprised, signaled her to leave.

She didn't wait a second. Gone like the wind.

Adhvik (confused): "Now what's her problem?"

Kunal (shutting the door behind him): "That's exactly why I'm here—what's wrong with you?"

Adhvik: "Nothing serious. I've just been occupied with the upcoming project."

Kunal (crossing his arms): "Really?"

He stepped closer, eyes locked with Adhvik's.

Kunal: "You might fool your staff, but you can't fool me. Spill it."

Adhvik (sighs): "Fine. I'll tell you everything."

And so he did—about Aadya, the jealousy, the late-night call, the storm in his heart.

When he finished, Kunal didn't speak.

He punched him in the stomach.

Adhvik (wincing): "What the hell?! Who hits like that?!"

Kunal: "You deserve worse. You should've just told me after getting married."

Adhvik: "I was going to…"

Kunal: "When? After your first kid's naming ceremony?"

Adhvik: "I just forgot, okay?"

Kunal: "You forgot your brother? Unbelievable."

He shook his head, exasperated.

Kunal: "You're mad at Aadya, but did she do anything wrong?"

Adhvik (grumbling): "She was with Rohan Kapoor."

Kunal: "And did you even verify who he is? You think feelings are facts now?"

Adhvik (defensive): "I got a background check done, but… I never read it."

Kunal (sarcastic): "Of course. Emotions first, logic never."

Adhvik finally picked up the report. After reading it, he looked up, stunned.

Adhvik: "There's no link. Nothing at all."

Kunal: "Exactly. You were burning over nothing."

He stepped closer, softening his tone.

Kunal: "Look, if she likes Rohan, you have to let her choose. You can't own love—you earn it."

Adhvik (quietly): "She doesn't even know why I was upset."

Kunal: "Then why are you punishing her? You want her to stay close? Make her feel safe. Make her feel… loved."

Adhvik: "You're right. I've been an idiot."

Kunal (grinning): "Finally, you get it."

Adhvik (teasing): "How do you know so much about relationships?"

Kunal: "It's a rare talent."

Seeing his brother's smile return, Kunal relaxed.

Kunal: "Now, at least show me my future sister-in-law's face."

Adhvik (mock-groaning): "I didn't even see her today. What a fool I am."

Kunal: "There, you said it yourself. Fool."

Adhvik laughed, then picked up his desk phone.

Design Department

Aadya's desk phone rang.

Receptionist: "The CEO has called you to his cabin."

Gasps filled the design department.

Sana (smirking to herself): "Now she'll get what she deserves. Let's see how long this queen's crown lasts."

Aadya calmly picked up her report file and walked to the office.

CEO Office

Aadya (knocking): "May I come in?"

Adhvik: "Yes, come in."

As she stepped inside, she spotted a familiar face.

Aadya: "Good afternoon, Kunal Sir."

Kunal (surprised): "You know me?"

Adhvik (curious): "Wait… how do you know Kunal?"

Aadya: "He's the General Manager of Kapoor Steel Works. I've admired his work ever since I read about him in Adorable Person magazine."

Kunal (grinning at Adhvik): "See? Someone finally appreciates me. From today, I'm officially on your sister-in-law's side."

Aadya (blushing): "Sister-in-law?!"

Kunal: "Well, if Adhvik's my brother…"

Aadya (nervous): "Isn't that a bit too much?"

Kunal: "Not really. If he sees you as family, what choice do I have?"

Adhvik couldn't help but smile at her flustered expression.

Adhvik: "Okay, enough. Stop teasing her."

Kunal: "Already picking her side, huh?"

Aadya's cheeks turned pink. She lowered her eyes, not knowing where to look.

Kunal chuckled and stood to leave.

Kunal: "I'll take my leave. You two carry on."

As he left, he winked at Adhvik and whispered:

Kunal: "You owe me big time."

Once the door shut, silence filled the room.

A little awkwardness lingered between them.

Adhvik (clearing his throat): "Let's go over the project report?"

Aadya (relieved): "Yes, of course."

They began reviewing the files, working side by side.

As the evening approached, time seemed to slow.

Design Department

Meanwhile, Aadya's absence hadn't gone unnoticed.

Diya: "Why hasn't Aadya come back yet?"

Eva: "And we didn't hear a single scream from the CEO's office. Strange."

The team kept glancing toward the corridor, still waiting.

What they didn't know was that Aadya wasn't being scolded.

She was… exactly where she was meant to be.
