Chapter 3 - Chapter 2 Cycle

July is a time of torrential rain as well as a period when the sun shines brightly. In such contradictory yet balanced weather, the chirping of cicadas outside the window can be heard incessantly.

At this moment,in a village located in Guizhou,Wu Ruiyuan, whose entire left arm was covered with tattoos, was lying listlessly on the table, lost in deep thought.

"Ruiyuan, why have you been so down in the dumps since that foreigner left? What's going on?Do you actually...have something on your mind now?!"

As one of Wu Ruiyuan's few good friends in the village,Wang Li,who was always curious, was quite gossipy. After all,in this small village where everyone saw each other almost every day, even the arrival of just a few new faces was considered a great source of fun for him.

"I'm not unhappy.I just think...actually,I could also go out and explore the world on my own.However..."

Wu Ruiyuan's eyes grew brighter as he spoke, but he fell silent again after just starting his sentence.

"Humph!I knew it!You brat, you're just staying here and pretending to be deep because you don't have the means to pursue your dreams and see the beautiful sceneries and the vast world out there!"

Wang Li curled his lips in contempt. But when he caught a glimpse of his friend's arm exposed to the air,he suddenly fell silent.

"If I remember correctly,I think your family...still has a mask,right?

It's exactly the same as one of the masks among the cultural relics unearthed from Sanxingdui!"

"Don't mix them up,okay? Those from Sanxingdui are made of bronze or gold!

While the one in my family is just an antique wooden mask that has been passed down in our Wu family for...several generations!"

Wu Ruiyuan frowned slightly,a hint of helplessness quickly flashing through his eyes.

Of course, only he knew the bitterness behind it.

Because on the wooden mask in his family, the inscriptions carved on it were something that even those golden and bronze human masks didn't have.

He quickly glanced at his own left arm.Even now,he still didn't understand what the significance was of his grandfather's act of recording all those inscriptions on his arm.

Of course, was it really okay to expose such obscure inscriptions blatantly under everyone's noses?

But then again, this thing hadn't caused any ripples either!

He shook his head with a wry smile, trying hard to deny any connection between them. But in his mind,a beautiful face in Hanfu quickly appeared.

...&...

"Hey!Do you—know about inscriptions?!"

"Wow...Is this the Sanxingdui Ruins? How amazing!"

"Don't just be amazed for now!I'm asking you,do you know about inscriptions?!"

She repeated her words concisely once again.Xiao Yuji, who was bending over and staring at the mask behind the glass, also had bright eyes.

"Er...What's that?!"

Ryan, who was staring unblinkingly at the No.1bronze sacred tree in front of him and noticed that one of the branches was actually moving on its own without any vibration, was quite shocked by this scene.

"Didn't I already say it!Sanxingdui was a large sacrificial site of the ancient Shu Kingdom!Naturally, they had the abilities and methods to communicate with heaven and earth!

Just like...my hypnosis."

Xiao Yuji's tone and voice grew lower and lower as she spoke, and the last sentence was almost like a murmur to herself.

"What's this then?Surprise and...Amazing!"

Staring at the three semi-open and successively shrinking spiral circles on the Sanxingdui sacred tree that seemed to be casually carved,Ryan instantly turned into a curious kid full of questions.

"Restart."

"...???"

"To put it another way,it's cycle."

"Cycle?!What's the meaning?What's it cycling?Energy?Or time?!"

Ryan scratched his head in confusion, suddenly feeling that he was still completely in the dark about the mysterious power of the East.He wished he could remake himself.

...&...

"It's a cycle that repeats itself. It's a repetition.Through the resonance of frequencies,it achieves an uninterrupted cycle among energies.Just like...you right now!

Brown Ryan! Please look into my eyes carefully!"

She snapped her fingers slowly.

At this moment,Xiao Yuji, sitting opposite on the sofa, had a solemn and serious look in her eyes.

As she quickly slapped the talisman in her left hand onto the forehead of the man opposite her.

The person who had been chattering non-stop since they left the Sanxingdui Museum suddenly became...quiet.

As he quickly closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

Ryan, whose mind began to flash through various scenes like a revolving lantern and forgot the existence of time, seemed to have really traveled through time and space and returned to a past experience that he cared about the most.
