When revenge rules
As I turned to leave, the unthinkable happened. Her anguished voice pierced the air like a dagger, echoing in pain as tears streamed down her face like a relentless waterfall. Her words shattered my heart, forcing me to confront the monster I'd become, a reflection of the darkest corners of my soul.
"How could you, Daven?" she cried, her voice trembling with emotion, each word a fragile whisper that cracked with despair. "I trusted you, I gave you everything my heart, my soul, my everything. I sacrificed my family, my wealth, my reputation... all for you, all because I believed in you. And now, I've lost everything because of you. You've taken my heart, my dignity, my sense of self-worth... You've destroyed me, leaving me a hollow shell of what I once was."
As her words hung in the air, a deafening gunshot rang out, shattering the silence like a sledgehammer. The sound was like a physical blow, leaving my ears ringing and my senses reeling. My vision blurred, and my eyes rolled back in my head, as if the very fabric of reality was unraveling before me. The world around me went dark and silent, as if the gunshot had ripped away my ability to hear and see, plunging me into an abyss of nothingness.
In the chaos that followed, a fleeting glimpse of light appeared before me. For a moment, I saw my mother again, her face radiant with love and warmth, her presence a gentle breeze on a summer's day. The light enveloped me, filling me with a sense of peace and longing. But it was short-lived, and the darkness closed in once more, leaving me lost and adrift in a sea of uncertainty.
