Deep burst into the Captain's Room ahead of the others and picked up a diary that was scattered on the floor.
Just as he was about to hand the maritime diary to Charles, the drawer next to him suddenly slid open, and a black shadowy figure instantly pounced on his face.
"Deep!" An astonished Charles rushed over, trying to pull the thing off, when suddenly Deep's body dispersed into a mist of deep blue fog.
Without support, the black mass fell to the ground, twisting as it crawled towards Charles.
Charles quickly drew his revolver and continuously pulled the trigger at the thing.
The sound of gunfire echoed within the room, and after Charles's relentless shooting, the black mass finally stopped moving.
"What is this thing?" Deep, now reformed into a human shape, looked surprisingly at the sticky black jelly on the floor.
Charles carefully tipped the contents of the drawer onto the floor, which looked hollowed out by something, its darkness stretching to unknown depths.
