Though I said this, it was clear by the looks on the faces in front of me that they didn't seem to believe me.
I wouldn't believe me either if I was in their shoes, but it wasn't as I would back down just because they stared at me like this. Instead, I just looked at them with a calm look on my face and waited for them to say what they wanted to say.
"I don't mean to offend, but you have to understand that it's hard for me to believe that." The general said in a well meaning tone, but it was clear what he was implying since he wasn't even bothering to hide it.
As such, there were a few people that moved closer.
These weren't people from the Democratic Union, but it seemed that they were close to the Democratic Union with the way that they moved. These were most likely allies of the Democratic Union that were backing this general.
The way that they moved made it seem like they wouldn't let me leave this place unless I went along with what they wanted me to do.
