The blood kept coming.
I pressed towels against her wrists but they soaked through in seconds. Her skin was cold and gray. Her breathing came in shallow gasps that barely moved her chest.
"Stay with me," I said, but my voice sounded distant. Like someone else was speaking. "Deb, stay with me."
I fumbled for my phone with bloody fingers. The screen was slick and I almost dropped it twice before I managed to dial.
"911, what's your emergency?"
"My wife," I said. The words came out broken. "She's bleeding. She cut herself. There's so much blood."
"Sir, I need you to stay calm. What's your address?"
