**A day earlier**
Gavin's car pulled up at the Winthrop mansion as usual; they were going shopping for their engagement party coming up in a week's time. Tricia insisted he shouldn't come to pick her up based on what happened earlier, but he refused.
Tricia allowed him to come pick her up after he agreed he wouldn't come in; he would just wait outside, then she'd dress up and come meet him.
Just like before, the maids never kept quiet; they muttered and whispered among themselves, imagining things that would never come to pass.
Bethel, who was standing at the rooftop, sighted him. She wanted to run down at first, but then she remembered what happened the last time; she was wise enough not to suffer the embarrassment for a second time.
Fortunately for her, a maid looked up at her. She just gestured to the maid, and the maid quickly walked away to go meet her.
Soon, the maid got to the rooftop.
"Do you know why he is here?" Bethel asked the maid.
