As soon as those words left his mouth, Mr. Horton furrowed his brows. "Nonsense!"
Oliver Horton immediately spoke up, "Elder, you don't know. Melissa Knight and Jake Horton are only after my money. Marisa and Selena truly care about me. Look at this—ever since the two of them came along, my relationship with Grandma has improved tremendously, all thanks to them. They are far more filial and attentive to old Mrs. Horton than Melissa and Jake!"
Mr. Horton's expression darkened instantly.
But now wasn't the time to discuss the affairs of the first branch of the family. He turned back to old Mrs. Horton, "Eldest Sister-in-law, how have you been recently?"
Old Mrs. Horton smiled lightly. "I've been doing well, Second Brother, don't worry!"
Mr. Horton walked over to sit beside old Mrs. Horton. The two sat and chatted casually about family matters. Most of the talking came from Mr. Horton, while old Mrs. Horton listened with a gentle smile.
