Chapter 4 - Chapter 4:Prelude to awakening(edited)

Few more weeks with noting of interest passed as Alex continues reading the little books available to him. Already having being exposed by a maid to be able to read due to a moment of carelessness two weeks prior, Amelia left with no choice but to comply with his demands for more books although still limited.

"Mommy can I ask you a question?" Amelia blinked drawn out of her thoughts by Alex sudden question.

"anything starlight" she answered brushing his hair gently.

In his most adorable voice " what kind of talent do you have, mommy?".

Amelia smiled, warm and wistful. "hmm…..my talent is called vector weave. It's part of the conceptual type, a branch of the space talent".

Alex blink " vector… weave?"

" I understand what a vector means, and if it's the same does that means.."

She chuckled softly " it's means I can control the directions and speeds of motion. I can gently bend the path of anything — a falling cup, a charging beast, or even a drop of water.

Alex eyes glinted " I knew it, damn!"

Keeping his act together "Wow you're very powerful mommy, so doesn't that means nothing could harm you"

"Silly child" shaking her head gently " am not that powerful, you see every talent has a weakness and limitations. Look at mine for example, vector weave has the ability to change the direction and speed of anything in motion, but only for anything physical, energy and force are beyond that if not it would have been called something like kinet imperium or inertia command. Take a look at this.

Pointing at a piece of Alex toy, look at this for example, as your toy isn't in motion I can't exert any influence over it but if the toy was

already in motion" she said as he threw it up " that's only when I will be able to control it speed and direction".

She said flicking her finger as the stopped it decent and did a 90 decree change in direction towards his little desk at the side.

"Now do you understand mommy talent" she chuckled to the dumbfounded Alex besides her.

He wasn't shocked about her talent since already aware that talent and magic exist in this world but reading and seeing are completely two different things, as this was his first time actually witnessing magic since coming to this world.

"Now Alex don't go around telling people your talents dear bad people will do bad things to you " she warned.

"Yes mom! " he said Snapping back to reality.

"Good now sleep my little starlight, good night" she said as the door slid open before her.

"Good night mom" Alex replied

The door slid shut as only the figure of Alex remained.

He noticed his body quivering not from fear or anything related but from excitement, eager to set foot in the world and explore it's

mysteries.

That night Alex couldn't sleep properly has his excitement couldn't be calmed.

...….

Days stretch in weeks, weeks stretch into months, time continue to flow unimpeded as half a year passed.

The night sky stretched endlessly above the Walker estate, its stars calm and distant, as though watching the world with quiet anticipation.

Inside a softly lit room, the warm glow of night-lamps cast shadows on the walls. The gentle sound of wind brushed past the open balcony.

Wrapped in a thick blanket, Alex sat nestled in a corner, eyes wide reading a book under the stars light. He is a year and half old now, still soft-cheeked and filled with baby fat.

His mother, Amelia, stood near the window, her voice low and weak."The stars are…already showing signs," she whispered, not realizing Alex could hear her—or at least, parts of it.

She paused, then murmured almost too softly to hear, "The time is about to come, isn't it?" She asked to know one in

particular.

Alex tilted his head. His tiny fingers fidgeted with a toy block, but his attention was elsewhere.

For days now, he'd felt something, like a weight in the air that didn't belong. Sometimes when he focused — he could almost feel it,

wrapping around his body like a cozy blanket. It's felt natural almost like….home.

.....

Time passed by slowly as Alex second birthday drew closer, the Walker estate was unusually still. Not the calm of serenity—but the quiet tension of expectation.

In the grand solar hall, wrapped in veils of white silk and threaded starlight, elders, branch family heads, and caretakers stood in solemn anticipation. No one said it aloud, but everyone knew why they were here.

Alex Walker.

The heir of the Void Lineage.

The child who, though barely over a year old, had reportedly been called a genius, solving and reading complex books beyond his age but most notably—space seem to ripple ever so slightly around him when he became frustrated. A child yet to awaken, yet already reaching out, grasping something unseen.

"It's not just rumor anymore," said Elder Riven of the Fourth Branch, his deep-set eyes serious. "Although I haven't met the kid yet but I've heard Enough to be certain."

Elara, the boy's main caretaker, nodded. "yes and me being closer to the young masters, I've seen him occasionally makes remarks about

the books although some words he said are…. Foreign to me, what I could understand are definitely not something a 1 Year old could comprehend".

A few elders murmured among themselves.

Then silence swept across the hall as Grand Elder Thamus Walker entered. His presence commanded attention—shoulders squared, eyes sharp, the void itself seeming to hum beneath his skin.

"We gather not for mere speculation," Thamus said, "but for what may be the dawning

of a storm. The main line's heir—Alex—has already stirred the veil. It cannot be hidden. All your doubts and speculations shall be answered when he awaken till then we wait."
