Rainny White carefully made her way through the crowd and quickly walked towards Carlos.
Carlos's gaze remained fixed on Emily Parker. She stood for quite a while, looking a bit tired, occasionally gently holding her waist, but her brows and eyes still carried a polite smile.
Carlos hurriedly wrapped his arm around her gently, politely nodding and apologizing to a few foreign officials in fluent French,
"Please forgive us, my wife is feeling a bit unwell."
Emily was helped by Carlos to sit down nearby.
Carlos said half-seriously, half-teasingly,
"You're perhaps too dedicated as a general manager; Carter Clan's salary doesn't include overtime pay."
"Although we are representing Carter Clan today, don't forget that you are now my assistant. We've discussed several projects together, all of which are very beneficial to Carter Clan."
As the two exchanged words, the previous unpleasantness seemed to dissipate in that moment.
