When Emily Parker walked out of the bathroom, there was already no one outside.
Almost instinctively, she walked toward the direction of the lounge. As she reached the door of the lounge, Emily's footsteps suddenly stopped.
She stood at the door, slightly panting, with her hand suspended in the air, hesitating whether to push open that door.
At this moment, a series of ambiguous sounds came from inside the room, intertwining with suppressed voices, piercing harshly into her heart.
Emily's heart plummeted, aching fiercely, even her fingertips trembled slightly.
She took a step back, leaning against the cold wall, after a while, a bitter smile appeared on her lips, as if mocking her own naivety, or perhaps comforting herself.
"Emily, what are you afraid of?"
She murmured softly to herself.
