Lilia's lips parted slightly as she watched Zethan, searching his face. He looked sincere—serious, yet calm, as if what he had just said didn't involve death.
"It's getting late, wife. Let's go. You need plenty of rest," Zethan said gently.
He stood up and offered his hand, helping her to her feet. Their fingers intertwined naturally.
Lilia's mouth opened, but no words came out. She simply stared at him, overwhelmed.
It was like she wanted to say something, but the words just refused to come out.
As they began to walk, she suddenly stopped. Zethan paused too, turning to her with a questioning look.
