Chapter 10 - Rotten Juice Puddle

Emma entered her new room in this world.

Curiosity overwhelmed her.

Emma's room had wooden walls, a wooden floor, and a wooden top. The room seemed like it belonged in a horror movie.

The room contained a bunk bed, a giant lump of blanket had been in the lower bed, because of this Emma had decided to go on the upper one. She had to sleep soon, Night was coming.

Just the thought of it had shook Emma. Kushtaka must have feared it a lot.

The night was scary; the night was harmful. Those were Kushtaka's thoughts on it.

But for some reason, she couldn't understand why it was so scary. Sure, pain was very painful, but to hate it this much, what did Kushtaka experience throughout its life?

Emma decided to keep it as a later problem and went to sleep.

Hours pass by, and night turns into day.

"Who are… you?" A soft feminine voice gently shouted besides Emma.

Emma was jolted awake from the shout. She looked to see who it was, and it was none other than a green skinned lady with green hair and dark green eyes.

She had worn a green night robe, looking towards Emma with frowned brows.

"Emma. New fella here, yata yata extra stuff, can I sleep now?" Emma lazily replied.

"New recruit? Oh so… that's why… you don't… know the… rules." The green lady slowly said.

"What rules?" Emma asked, starting to completely wake from her sleep.

Bang!

The door had swung open revealing a guy, with dark hair, pale skin, and black eyes. Wearing a black cloak that had a golden badge with shiny teeth on it. He carried something in his hand that Emma couldn't see at the moment, matter of fact she couldn't fully comprehend the environment around her.

"Ready?" A loud voice coming from the black-haired guy shouted, "Training is in 20 minutes, failure to meet at the designated area would lead to a loss in merit, which would decrease your pay. Got that newbie?"

Emma quickly got up from this.

Pay, she needed her pay! How else would she get all those cool things she saw in the market?! Also, she needed to get stronger too, being lazy wasn't going to help with that.

The green lady rubbed her eyes and got some clothes from a bag under her bed.

"This would... look… fabulous… on you. It's the… uniform." The green woman said, as she left the room with some clothes in her hand.

Emma got off from her bed and was about to get ready. But she just stopped and stared at the clothes for a bit.

"Do I have to wear this? This white robe seems way more useful." Emma had remembered what had happened to her without the robe. She nearly died to gravity.

She didn't want to experience that ever again! Emma just took out the badge and placed it on her own robe, it was Emma's solution to this certain problem.

After getting ready for the day with a quick shower and brushing her teeth at the purple bathroom they had. She went downstairs to see how she was going to train her. It was kind of exciting for Emma.

"In a world filled with magic called Gifts. How exactly did people train themselves?" Emma immediately thought of Harry Potter but realized it had not really fit too well.

"Tsk, 2 minutes from being late. Get better." The guy who walked her had said.

Emma had descended to the living room of this large building; 4 people had been there. Alita, the green lady, the loud fellow, and an orange skinned dude with a pretty big build, and flowing silver hair. All of them had worn the same outfit as clones, except for their pants, everyone didn't want to be the same in that for some reason.

In the room Emma had stuck out like a sore thumb. Wearing a plain white robe, with the Avid badge attached to it.

"Great you're here, training starts now. Eye." Alita said while standing around with a clipboard.

"Ma'am yes Ma'am! This Newbie will be thoroughly trained, in the most excruciatingly painful ways possible!" The orange skinned fellow shouted while laying down on the blue tinted couch.

"Don't, Eye. Don't scare people off, unless you want to handle every single task available." The annoying fellow who woke Emma retorted.

"Don't worry Oliver! If they're scared of a little training, how can they possibly be useful at all? The best they could do in life is be a money counter person thing, or whatever Orm does anyways." Eye responded while leisurely relaxing on the couch.

Oliver's brows had frowned unlike any other. But somehow to Emma, who was watching them converse, he had a still face, it did not represent any emotion at all. Except for calm.

"Eye, you should be training Emma right now. Your entire day is filled with tasks to do, if you don't do it now, there will probably be a pay deduction." Alita announced in the midst of the tension growing between the two.

Eye immediately jumped off the couch and landed on his two big feet.

He looked fearful.

"Sorry Ma'am! Newbie, follow me to the gate immediately!" Eye started to rush out of the building, wearing wooden sandals before he ran out.

Emma grabbed her running shoes that she still kept from earth and followed. "The gate, the gate, where was that again?" Emma thought to herself, running after the orange buff fellow.

After 10ish minutes, both Eye and Emma had finally stopped, reaching a large blue gate, in an even bigger gigantic dark blue wall.

Emma was tired, even with her improved body due to becoming a spirit, she hadn't ever run for so long, and so hard to. She tried her best to keep her head up, seeing what was beyond the gate.

A ginormous yellow grass field, and after what looked like a 2 maybe 3 miles away was dense purple tree forest.

"Warmups done, first one to reach the forest is a rotten juice puddle!" Eye shouted, and after that he ran. Even faster than he was before.

Emma looked at him and immediately tried to follow.

20 minutes later, Eye had a joyful expression on his face, while Emma looked like she was going to die due to exhaustion.

Emma had lost; she was the Rotten juice puddle.

That didn't matter though, all she had to do for right now was get stronger, and later bring back Luna!
