Chapter 121 - Chapter 121: Is the Mann Team Moving In Together?!

An Unexpected Encounter

David hung up the call and immediately got out of bed.

After a quick wash, he threw on his leather jacket, grabbed his customized pistol, and stepped out of his apartment.

Today's agenda?

A meeting with The Mox—one of the more unpredictable gangs in Night City.

As he stepped into the dimly lit hallway, he almost ran straight into Jack, who was walking toward him.

"Hey, David! I was just about to look for you!"

Jack grinned, his stocky frame moving with energy as he approached.

---

"Lunch Can Wait!"

"Let's go grab some lunch!" Jack said, slapping David on the shoulder.

David chuckled, shaking his head.

"Sorry, can't. Got something to take care of."

He pressed the elevator button and leaned against the wall.

Jack raised an eyebrow.

"Oh? Something serious? What's up?"

David glanced at him, debating whether to explain.

But before he could answer—

Jack's expression suddenly changed as he put two and two together.

"Wait, hold up… you're meeting The Mox?!"

David nodded.

Immediately, Jack's grin disappeared, replaced by determination.

"No way in hell you're going alone!"

David blinked.

"I can handle myself, Jack."

"Nah, man. It ain't about that. You're going to a place full of girls. I can't just let you have all the fun!"

David paused.

Then smirked.

"Oh? And what happened to being hungry?"

Jack shrugged, stepping into the now-open elevator beside David.

"Lunch can wait. Priorities, brother."

David shook his head with a chuckle as the elevator doors closed.

---

A Moving Truck?

As soon as the elevator reached the garage, the two stepped out—

And immediately spotted several large moving trucks pulling in.

David's eyes narrowed.

"New residents? Or old ones moving out?"

Jack crossed his arms.

"No idea. But it's weird seeing this many trucks at once."

Their curiosity didn't last long—

Because the moment the first truck stopped, the passenger door swung open…

And out jumped a familiar fiery-haired figure.

Rebecca.

---

"Be Careful With My Stuff!"

"Watch it, dumbass! If you break my gear, you're paying for it!"

Rebecca barked orders at the movers while hopping out of the truck.

A second later, another familiar voice chimed in—

"Yeah, yeah! Be careful! A lot of this stuff is explosive, you know!"

David and Jack turned their heads just in time to see Pilar stretch and yawn as he climbed out of another truck.

The two froze.

Then looked at each other.

Jack was the first to react.

"Wait… the hell is going on?!"

---

"Surprise, We're Moving In!"

Jack raised his voice.

"Oi! Little girl, what are you up to?!"

Rebecca paused mid-step, then turned her head.

The moment she spotted David, her big red-and-green eyes lit up like neon signs.

"Oh hey, David! What a coincidence!"

Jack facepalmed.

"Coincidence, my ass! You're moving in here, aren't you?!"

Before Rebecca could answer, Pilar piped up.

"Yeah! Crazy, huh? We just so happen to be moving to the same building!"

David's eyebrow twitched.

"You're moving?"

"Yup!" Pilar nodded, rubbing his hands together.

"Our old place in Northside was a dump, so we figured—why not upgrade?"

Rebecca smirked.

"Hehe… from now on, we're neighbors!"

---

A Convenient Arrangement

David crossed his arms, thinking for a moment.

Having Rebecca and Pilar this close wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

They were already part of Mann's team—so logistically, it made sense.

"Hmm… yeah. This actually works out."

Rebecca beamed.

"Right?! That's what I thought!"

Pilar nodded rapidly.

"Yeah, and don't worry, we'll keep things chill! Just a little party here and there—"

David shot him a look.

Pilar cleared his throat.

"Ahem. I mean, uh… strictly business. Totally professional."

Jack rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, right. Professional my ass."

---

The Floating Car Project

Jack suddenly remembered something and snapped his fingers.

"Oi, by the way—since you're moving, what about the float car modifications?"

Pilar grinned.

"Brother, don't even stress! We're just moving our stuff today. I'll be heading back to Northside later to finish the modifications!"

David nodded approvingly.

"Good. That project is a priority."

Pilar saluted.

"Got it, boss!"

Rebecca clapped her hands.

"Alright! Enough chit-chat! We gotta move this stuff before sunset!"

---

A New Chapter Begins

As the movers continued unloading, David and Jack watched from the sidelines.

Jack nudged David.

"So, what do you think? Good idea or bad idea?"

David smirked.

"Guess we'll find out soon enough."

One thing was certain—

With Rebecca and Pilar moving in, things were about to get even more interesting.
