A Ride Through Night City
David and Jack sped through the neon-lit streets of Night City, weaving between traffic on their motorcycles.
David's Kusanagi CT-4X roared as he accelerated, while Jack trailed slightly behind on his customized ARCH motorcycle, his engine growling like a beast ready to pounce.
It only took a few minutes before they arrived at Sakura Street's entertainment district—a hotspot of bright lights, nightlife, and unspeakable pleasures.
Their destination?
Genting Club.
---
A High-Class Establishment
Genting wasn't just any club—it was the most famous and exclusive adult venue in the area.
Jack parked beside David and took off his helmet, glancing up at the extravagant towering structure before them.
"Man... No wonder the corpos love this place."
David smirked.
"What, never been here before?"
Jack let out a nervous chuckle.
"Pfft. Yeah, right. You know how expensive this place is? A night here costs more than my whole goddamn rent!"
That much was true.
The people who came to Genting weren't your average joytoys or mercs from the slums.
This was a place for Night City's elite—corpos, fixers, and high-rolling gangsters.
Jack crossed his arms.
"I gotta admit, I wasn't even hungry anymore when I heard where we were going."
David shook his head.
"I swear, sometimes you're worse than a teenager."
Jack grinned.
"Hey, don't blame me! You're the one who said The Mox called you here. A fancy club, VIP treatment… c'mon, tell me you don't think there's gonna be 'perks' to this meeting?"
David gave him a flat look.
"You're dating Misty."
Jack froze.
Then coughed.
"Ahem. Yeah, yeah, I know. I was just messing around."
David raised an eyebrow.
"Sure you were."
Jack quickly changed the subject.
"Anyway! No harm in looking, right?"
David sighed.
"Jack, I'm here for business."
Jack grinned.
"Uh-huh. Business. In a place like this."
David didn't even dignify that with a response as they stepped into the glass elevator.
---
Arriving at the Top
The elevator doors slid open, revealing Genting's luxurious top floor.
Neon lights cascaded down the walls, bathing everything in a soft, pink glow.
The air was thick with the scent of expensive perfume and alcohol, mingling with the rhythmic beats of a slow, seductive song.
High-class escorts walked through the lounge, draped in elegant silks and cyber-enhancements that made them look more machine than human.
Jack let out a low whistle.
"Damn. This ain't Twisted Street, that's for sure."
David didn't disagree.
Even in a city like Night City—where excess was the norm—this place stood out.
Just as Jack was about to make another comment, a sultry voice called out—
"Oh my, Mr. David! You actually came!"
---
Susie's Grand Entrance
David turned to see a familiar figure approaching.
Susie, one of The Mox's high-ranking leaders, strutted toward them with an effortless sway in her hips.
Her dark skin gleamed under the neon glow, and her cybernetic implants shimmered like polished metal.
She was as dangerous as she was beautiful.
Susie smiled, her voice smooth as velvet.
"I was starting to think you'd keep a lady waiting."
David smirked.
"Not my style."
Jack grinned.
"Damn, Susie, you look good! What about me, huh? No greeting for ol' Jackie?"
Susie gave him a flat stare.
"You?" She paused. "I'm not impressed."
Jack looked wounded.
"Oof. That hurts."
David chuckled.
"Alright, enough. Let's get down to business."
Susie let out a playful sigh.
"Always so serious. Fine, fine. Follow me."
She turned to one of the front desk attendants, a girl with sleek chrome arms and glowing pink eyes.
"Anna, go fetch Evelin. Tell her we're waiting in VIP Room 66."
Anna nodded and disappeared down the corridor.
Susie smiled at David.
"Come, Mr. David. Let's get comfortable while we wait."
She motioned toward a private VIP room.
David and Jack followed, walking past crystal chandeliers, velvet carpets, and panoramic windows overlooking Night City.
Jack muttered under his breath.
"Damn. This place is really somethin' else."
---
Inside VIP Room 66
The VIP suite was even more extravagant.
A low, circular couch surrounded a glass table, with a built-in holo-display.
A small bar area lined the side, stocked with premium drinks that most mercs could only dream of affording.
David took a seat, resting one arm over the back of the couch.
Jack, on the other hand, immediately grabbed a drink.
Susie chuckled, watching him.
"You act like you've never been in a place this nice before."
Jack shrugged.
"That's 'cause I haven't!"
Susie turned back to David.
"So, I take it you're eager to meet Evelin?"
David nodded.
"You said she could help with our job. Figured I should meet her in person."
Susie smirked.
"Oh, she's more than capable. But I'll let you judge for yourself."
As if on cue, the door slid open.
A woman stepped inside.
David's eyes narrowed.
---
Meeting Evelin
Evelin was… unexpected.
She was tall, elegant, and heavily modified—her cybernetic arms sleek and slender, with intricate golden engravings.
Her eyes glowed a deep violet, scanning the room with an almost mechanical precision.
She carried herself with a quiet confidence, the kind that only came from experience.
She was no ordinary escort.
No, this woman had the aura of a fixer, a netrunner, or something in between.
Susie smiled.
"David, meet Evelin. If you need help… she's the one to ask."
Evelin's gaze locked onto David's.
Then she smirked.
"So… you're the guy Susie's been talking about."
David leaned forward, intrigued.
"And you're the one who might help us pull off something big."
Evelin chuckled.
"That depends. Tell me, David… just how big are we talking?"
David grinned.
"Let's find out."
