Chapter 26 - The Locket and the Bloodline

October 27th,

They say going home is supposed to bring peace.

But what if home holds the answers that break you?

The family reunion was meant to be joyful — a "breather," Mum called it.

But my mind wasn't in celebration mode. I had packed my diary, Bible, and that screenshot of the symbol Mayumi saw. Whatever peace I had left was hanging by a thread.

Tony, Anita, and I arrived at our house by 2 PM. Raymond and Melissa ran out to meet us at the gate like it was Christmas morning. The hugs, laughter, and scattered conversation gave a momentary illusion of normalcy — until Mum pulled me aside after dinner.

Dad was already in the prayer room, humming worship under his breath. His voice was steady, but his eyes… they carried weight.

We sat. The room was dim, scripture on the walls.

Then Mum said it.

"Sandra… the man — the one from the kidnapping — he wasn't just twisted. He was part of a deeper web… A bloodline marked by rebellion."

I swallowed hard.

"The woman in Anita's vision... she existed," Dad said. "Your real father's grandmother. She was a high priestess in a forbidden cult — masquerading as a prophetess. Her son rejected the truth, and the generations after carried darkness masked as light."

I felt a chill crawl up my spine.

"Why me?" I whispered.

Mum held my hands tightly.

"Because it ends with you."

We prayed like never before.

Mum prayed in tongues. Dad declared Scriptures over our lives. Melissa and Raymond joined in — tears, groans, and raw power. It wasn't just family prayer… it was war.

Anita opened her mouth to pray — and immediately, she began to see again.

"There's a man—hunched, angry… holding a scroll with your name, Sandra. And behind him, the same symbol Mayumi saw. But the scroll is burning from the edges."

She blinked, panting.

"Something is fighting back."

Before we left for school, Mum pressed something into my hand.

It was a locket.

Ancient. Gold. Etched with the name "Selah."

"This was hers — the woman from the vision. But it doesn't belong to her anymore. It belongs to the one called to redeem the line."

Me.

Back at campus, things were no longer quiet.

Isaiah had called Tony in a panic:

"Bro, someone's trying to dissolve the campus fellowship leadership. It's political… but it smells off."

At the same time, Mayumi came rushing into the hostel, clutching a piece of cloth and a half-burned notebook.

"I remembered the path. The route they took me when I was kidnapped. I drew it. It leads to the abandoned science building behind Hall C."

Tony's jaw tightened. "That place was shut down years ago."

Mayumi's eyes burned with determination. "Then why is there still smoke coming from it at midnight?"

I carry more than my name.

I carry a war.

And something tells me it's far from over.
