Chapter 122 - Welcome To The City of Everbloom, Blodeau

Walking down the long corridor, Duncan grumbled to himself, annoyed at the thought of his mother talking with the old Orc, but also concerned that Titus would do some...'unsavoury'...things, with her.

Orcs were very well known for their promiscuity...

Despite it seemingly being their first time meeting, Duncan knew better. The old fart had been living for nearly 700 years, so he must've made contact with the Leves back then. How much though, he never found out...

Shaking his head for the umpteenth time, he headed out.

He knew better than to needle in affairs that were not part of his concern...

"Step right up, step right up, we've got the freshest Bacorns there is! Now with the added flavour of Bailora Boar, it's guaranteed to send your taste buds through the roof of your mouth (and possibly impress the parents of the girl you're trying to get)! Come and get it while ot's still fresh! Only for 1G and 59C!"

"Guides present for Wyldarmed Ducngeon! We have the likes of Tisania the fleet-footed and Galedra the sharp-eyed for you to take with! Don't have insurance, no worries! We have that range from basic 10S a month for healing, all the way to 3G for premium! Come and get it while the offer's still here!"

Stepping into the bustling marketplace, Duncan couldn't help but take in the nostalgic scent that permeated the air, a scent that he had yearned for years.

I'm home...

The Elven Kingdom, long sought after for their fabled Elixir of Immortality and the Fruits of Rejuvenation (allegedly), has always kept its borders closed to those from the outside. Those who managed to sneak in were promptly, let's say, 'cleaned up', so that they may never reveal what they have seen. This has led to speculations of the land of the Elves being a place where Elves and their companions are said to remain distant from the bustle of the mortal realm, drinking from their chalices of Mahougani and Yelderwood...

Baulshit!

Rolling his eyes for the umpteenth time, Duncan warded off the 15th Pixie pickpocket, wrangling her through the air before meeting her into the soft arms of the police, where they attempted to explain why they were trying to 'liberate' the poor gold coins from its horrid master.

Shaking his head, he meandered his way through the bustling market, barely dodging the scams that flew his way. One even portrayed itself as the 'Queen's used panties'. Duncan nearly drew his staff and skewered the hawker into shish kebab using a tier-3 spell, but stopped once he realised that the seller was a Pixie again. Fucking Pixies...

Calling the police, he wandered off again, trying to find what he was looking for, and find he did.

Located in one obscure corner were the Gnome stalls. Portrayed on the myriad shelves were the seeds of the various plants that grew on the land of Folicia. There were many that were really in demand in the mainland, but only one was in his eyes. In a corner lay a large, oval, brown pod, its surface shining in the sunlight...

A Kako pod

Wasting no time, he quickly purchased it, fearing that someone else would buy it, ruining all his plans (it was the cheapest one there was). Thanking the nice Gnome lady, he headed out of the shade, covering his eyes at the sudden light blazing from the skies. Damn, did I miss this city...

Towering trees spread across the skies, as various houses were seen dotting their branches, interconnected by the myriad bridges floating in the air. Pixies could be seen flying through the air, some carrying packages of legal goods, others...not so much. Elves, Gnomes, Nymphs, Pixies, Brownies and other magical species wandered through the smooth dirt road, each bartering in their respective stalls, or having feasts and parties in the various taverns that studded the area.

This place was not some calm and quiet place that people usually depicted, but a place filled with chaos and energy...

Just like the cities in Earasmus...

Taking a deep breath, Duncan began tracing his steps back to the Palace (of course, without anyone noticing), with a skewer of grilled Batato mixed with various sauces (any self-respecting Elf would've given him the death stare if they caught one of their kind eating meat in the open). Walking back, he couldn't help but do a little jig at the sight of a Fairy band playing music in one of the many corners of the market.

Though I didn't get to visit the whole city, just this one place fills my heart with warmth. Ah, Blodeau, the city that never wilts...

Just as he was about to enter one of the many secret paths back to the Palace, his ears picked up a frenzied voice.

"Extra, extra, extra! Another village was..."
