"Did you sleep at all?"
I put the tray of breakfast on the table, looking at Jude who opens his eyes as he sits up, eyes red from lack of sleep.
"I did. Two hours."
"Why?" what I really want to ask is, why did I wake up and he was back in his bed, looking the other side and why is he avoiding looking at me in the eye this morning?
"I don't know," he shrugs, mussing his hair before he struggles getting off the bed and sits on the floor instead. "Yum, you brought me toast. Thank you."
Okay, so change of topic then. "Yeah. Rin suggested it."
"You are talking again? That's good," he hums around a mouthful of toast in his mouth.
"Not talking more like he asked if I was getting you breakfast, then proceeded to put the last toast in your tray."
"It's progress."
"If you say so."
It's awkward with us this morning. I feel like I did something wrong, but I have no idea what.
