POV 1ST PERSON
'I had the kid chose his breathing style or if he wanted to make his own, predictively he decided on flame breathing and I can see why', I turned to where the kid (he said his name was David Naughton) was swinging his wood sword I had carved for him. He seemed to take to the style like a fish to water which I find comedic as he's a son of hephestus a well known god for his kids not being fighters very often.
He had progressed a lot in these past 6 months, I wouldn't say he's as talented as tanjiro but he's definitely talented. He even seemed to have a special sense like the kids from demon slayer but his is his sense of peripherception or sense of space and balance, allowing the kid to do some moves like he has spider sense.
I pick up a small pebble off the floor and chuck in his general direction and watch as he reflects it from behind him. "Alright David I think that's enough swings for today, well be moving to the forms of flame breathing now" he nods happily and runs over, I don't know if it's because of his dad or if its because of being a demigod in general but he can just keep going no matter the training we do.
"Ok so far you've managed to use the first 3 forms of flame breathing so we'll move to form 4, but don't forget to practice the forms you know as you still aren't up to my level yet" he nods and we move to the training part of the clearing so I can show him the form first.
"This form is mainly a defensive form but can be used as both offence and defense if needed" I get into the stance for form 4 and slowly go through the motions so he can see it easily "flame breathing - form 4 Blooming Flame Undulation" I perform it slow at first before slowly speeding up so he can see it at full power.
As I start trying my blade starts catching fire and the form really comes to life with a beautiful sphere of flame moving erratically that covers me completely. As I reach my top speed the flame colour changes to a bright blue and the sphere change at shape to a coiling dragon that wraps around me protectively.
I start to slow down at last before stopping. "That is flame breathing - form 4 Blooming Flame Undulation at its peak" David has stars in his eyes like every other time flame breathing makes dragons of fire because he wants to see if he can bring the fire dragons to life with his dad's divinity of fire and forging.
"Ok kid your turn remember to start slow and don't be sad if you can't do it first time" he rolls his eyes at my constant reminder of the possibility of failure but I remember some of Yoriichi's annoying ass student's who'd throw a tantrum when they couldn't use sun breathing.
The first time David trys form 4 he is able to do quite well even managing a few sparks but he's cheating with his demigodness so it's expected. It takes him 1 week to manage to go the full form with his gifted celestial bronze katana flaming. How he got a celestial bronze sword to practice with I don't really care apparently it's from his dad but he's not allowed to use it to practice until he can do the form with a wood sword first.
"Ok kiddo I've been putting this off till you knew at least form 1 through 4 but I think you need to go to that demigod camp" as I say the words the animals that hang around me perk up but David gets moppy. "Do we need to I could just stay here and continue learning from you until I've mastered all the forms of flame breathing" I shake my head in a no.
"You need to know more that just how to use a sword David, you also need to know about monsters and their weaknesses, how to complete quests and how to help and fight along side your fellow demigods" he still seems sad about us leaving.
I smirk at him "I never said I was leaving did I" he perks up at that. "Your coming too" I nod at his question and he pumps his fist.
It takes up 2 months to get to the camp because I realised I don't have any money and neither did David so we had to walk. The world seemed particularly helpfull on the journey with trees with fruit anytime we got hungry and clean rivers anytime we got thirsty.
When we got to the barrier I was wondering if I could enter so I put my hand on it. The moment I did the world went crazy, the trees around me bloomed and brightened while the barrier seemed to get thick and thick by the second, I turned to David with a deadpan "I think I broke it" he laughed at me.
When the barrier started to get to about a full foot thick a large centaur arrived with a gaggle of young adults. "Stop what ever you are doing and move away from the barrier this instant young man" I look to him then to David then I point to myself "me?" He nods and I remove my hand.
Or at least try to as the barrier streches to reach for my hand by it's self while I stare at the Centaur a bit panicked at what was happening. "Please move away from the barrier" the man/centaur asks with visible tiredness in his eyes. I try to do as he asks but the barrier elongates to swallow me into it.
With a pop I'm on the same side as the group of confused demigods and the Centaur, I wave at them cheerfully.
The Centaur I think is Chiron just sighs and waves the group of demigods off before motioning for David to walk through the barrier. After David has joined me and Chiron on this side of the barrier Chiron starts talking.
"My name is chiron and I am the main teacher here at camp half blood, what are your names?" I introduced myself and David "hello Chiron this is David son of hephestus" as I say that a blazing hammer manifests above David claiming him as the son of the forge.
After David's light show I turn to Chiron and speak again "hello my name's Yoriichi and I'm the son of nobody" as I introduce myself the air above me gets set ablaze as the symbol of all of Olympus manifests above me.
"Huh cool didn't know I was a group project" I make a joke about this frankly impossible situation. David looks like he expected this while Chiron is freaking out about what this means. Before any of us can figure out what that means another 2 symbols appear, one for the cathonic gods (gods from the underworld and not from Olympus) and the symbol for Gaia.
"Oh fuck" "Gasp, bad word" Chiron exclams and David chastises.
