Chapter 131 - Chapter 129: The Only Spider-Man Who Has Never Lost

Shadow Spider-Man sighed and pulled out a revolver, aiming it at Miles' forehead.

Miles stared at him in shock, unable to say anything for a moment.

"Alright! I'll give you a chance. Ten seconds from now, I'll shoot. You can either use invisibility to dodge or use your electric shock to knock me out."

"Wait, give me time to prepare..." Miles said urgently.

"Ten," Shadow Spider-Man coldly began counting down, his voice devoid of any emotion.

"Nine."

Each number struck Miles like a heavy hammer.

Sweat started to bead on his forehead, and his eyes were filled with anxiety and fear as he looked to the other Spider-Men for help.

Gwen turned her head, seemingly unable to watch.

Penny ran back into the mech and pulled up the mask.

Pig Spider-Man picked his nose, looking indifferent.

Winter Spider-Man sighed and closed his eyes.

It's alright. He's Spider-Man. He won't kill, Miles reassured himself in his mind.

"Just a reminder, I'm not like them. The people I've killed, there are at least a few hundred."

Shadow Spider-Man emitted a chilling killing intent, his presence making it clear to Miles that he meant every word.

"Five."

"Four."

"Three."

With each passing second, Miles' fear grew, and his body began to flicker in and out of visibility.

I can do this, come on, come on.

Miles kept encouraging himself.

But as he stared at the dark barrel of the gun, he couldn't help but wonder: what if I really die?

"Two."

"One."

As the countdown finished…

"Goodbye, kid."

Without hesitation, Shadow Spider-Man pulled the trigger.

Click—

"Ah!"

Miles' pupils contracted. He shut his eyes and crouched, covering his head, his body trembling uncontrollably.

Shadow Spider-Man holstered the revolver, grabbed Miles by the collar, and mocked him:

"You're not a Spider-Man, just a little kid. Take off that lousy Spider-suit and go back to school, got it?"

He let go of Miles, who sat down on the ground, still shaken with lingering fear.

"...You're not him."

After a moment, Miles stood up, his voice tinged with frustration.

He rushed toward the door, nearly running into Aunt May, who had just returned.

"This kid, what happened?"

Aunt May looked confused, watching Miles' retreating figure, then turned to the others in the room.

"Did I say something too harsh? Did I ruin a kid's dream? I'm not human, why didn't anyone stop me?"

Shadow Spider-Man immediately became emo, kneeling on the floor, his head lowered, his voice filled with self-blame.

"Stop what? You already used up your bullets, okay?"

Pig Spider-Man, who fought alongside him, would know if the bullets were used up.

"You cursed at him. If that's the case, I'll step in."

Gwen crossed her arms, her expression serious.

"Did you just call him a little kid? If I'm included, I'll act now."

The mask of the Spider-Mech opened, revealing Penny's dissatisfied face.

Damian stood aside silently, observing them. Shadow Spider-Man could be ruthless against enemies, but he felt guilty for cursing at someone. How strange.

Aunt May, now aware of what happened, helped Shadow Spider-Man up from the ground.

"You did well. That kid shouldn't have been dragged into this. My Peter didn't have a choice back then and had to ask that kid for help."

Aunt May's eyes showed sadness.

Chapter 129: The Only Spider-Man Who Has Never Lost (2/2)

At that time, the Spider-Man was seriously injured, and the only person around was Miles. If he didn't ask for his help, the whole of Brooklyn would have been destroyed.

Winter Spider-Man sighed. "I'm also at fault. I should have refused him from the beginning, sent him home. The title of Spider-Man is a curse."

The other Spider-Men looked down, their faces full of sorrow.

Only Gwen didn't understand, frowning and asking, "What do you mean by curse?"

The other Spider-Men also looked at her with confused expressions. With her skill, powerful spider suit, and enough time as Spider-Man, they assumed she understood.

"Hasn't anyone close to you accidentally died?"

"No."

"What about your parents?"

"They're fine."

"Has anything happened to your friends?"

"They're fine too. What do you mean? Does everyone close to Spider-Man always die?"

Gwen's eyes widened, disbelief written all over her face.

"Yeah, my Uncle Ben died." Winter Spider-Man said.

"My Uncle Benjamin died." Shadow Spider-Man said.

"My dad died." Penny Parker said.

"My friend died." Pig Spider-Man said.

"My husband, Ben, also died." Aunt May said.

"To say we're different, it's that you have a demon king boyfriend who messed with your fate."

The other Spider-Men looked at Gwen with envy, this Spider-Man who had never lost anyone.

Gwen was taken aback by their words.

A hint of gratitude and happiness showed in her eyes.

Miles, back at the dormitory, took off his suit and looked at it with a depressed expression before tossing it into the trash can.

Then, he threw himself heavily onto his bed.

He was right.

He couldn't even use his abilities, and all he did in the past was get in the way.

Knock knock knock

The knock on the door woke Miles from his thoughts.

"Son, your Uncle Aaron's in the hospital."

"What?!"

Miles exclaimed in shock and quickly followed his father to the hospital.

Seeing his uncle lying on the bed, Miles' heart grew heavier.

"Miles, you're here."

Aaron weakly looked at his nephew, forcing a small smile on his face.

"Uncle Aaron, how did you end up like this?"

Miles stepped forward, holding Aaron's hand, his eyes full of concern and worry.

"The hospital says he was hit by a car and electrocuted by a power pole, but thankfully, it's not too serious."

"Once you're discharged, I'll find you a stable job. Don't do any more petty thefts," Jefferson Davis said, frowning. He had always looked down on his brother. Jefferson was a police officer, but his brother was always involved in petty crimes, not doing anything proper.

"Can I have a moment alone with Miles?" Aaron's voice was weak, but there was a hint of pleading.

Jefferson Davis was momentarily taken aback. How long had it been since he heard that?

"I understand."

His eyes showed a brief flicker of emotion but quickly returned to calm.

Probably tired of him, always acting like this. He turned and left, closing the door behind him.

"Miles, I need to tell you something."

"Uncle Aaron?"

Aaron struggled to reach under his pillow, pulling out a mask and handing it to Miles.

Miles unfolded it.

"The Prowler!"

He exclaimed in surprise, staring at Aaron in disbelief.

A mob boss, one of Kingpin's underlings.

The Spider-Man of this world had died.
