Zara chuckled in disbelief at his words. He didn't sound serious—not that she cared. But she decided to match his energy.
"Aren't we taking his body with us?" she asked, her tone light but laced with sarcasm.
Ace halted and turned sharply, his brows raised and lips twitching. He hadn't expected that response from her.
But he didn't want her to catch his reaction, so he turned away again, taking another step forward. "His family is to claim his body from the state hospital."
Zara had had enough of his games. She ran after him and climbed into the bus.
