Kendrick swallowed as his eyes fell on Zara's plum lips. He couldn't stop fantasizing about them.
How soft they must feel. How he wished he could just lean in and taste them again.
What was stopping him?
His finger traced her lips slowly, almost without thinking. Zara didn't move. Her eyes fluttered closed, letting herself feel the quiet touch.
He leaned in, his breath brushing her cheek.
But just as he was about to kiss her, Zara shifted slightly, her hand pressing against his groin—hard.
"Argh..." Kendrick groaned in pain, his hand flying to his mouth to muffle the sound.
Zara's eyes widened in horror. She sprang to her feet. "I... I'm sorry!"
Ezra tossed in his sleep.
Both of them froze, holding their breath.
When the boy settled again, they tiptoed quietly out of the room, easing the door shut behind them.
