Two young men stood in front of each other at the training grounds. They both wore the school uniform and a blazer on top of their shirts, and both kept them unbuttoned for some reason.
"How did it come to this?"
Astra spoke while taking an attacking stance. In front of him was a young man with blue eyes and a sharp jawline who stood there calmly.
Ten minutes before.
"Hey." A voice came from behind Astra.
Astra turned around to see a mage walk up to him.
"Why did you come here, Hito?" he spoke while swinging his sword.
"Well, I saw you training, and an idea came into my mind."
Astra stopped swinging his sword and turned towards Hito. "What idea?" He wiped some sweat from his face.
Hito gave a mischievous smile. "Let's have a sparring match."
Astra's eyes widened. He wants to fight me?
His eyes fired up. I won't get a chance to fight a 3-star mage again.
"Let's do it."
Hito's mouth curled up, forming a smile.
"Before we fight, let me tell you the rules."
He showed one finger.
"We are allowed to use our invisible power during the fight."
Wait, I can use aura. He clenched his finger. This will be the best time to see how used to it I am.
"And we will end the battle when someone bleeds. Okay?"
"Sure, I'll agree to the terms."
The Present.
Hito called Astra to come to attack him.
Astra calmed himself and blew out some air.
In an instant, Astra sprinted to Hito. He jumped and went to slice Hito's chest.
Hito bent backward as the wooden sword flew right in front of him.
Astra was now in the air and had to maneuver.
Hito got back up, turned towards him, and shot a water ball towards him. The ball hit and sent him flying and made him wet in the process too.
"Agh!"
Astra backflipped and made a beautiful landing. He turned to look straight.
Hito was right in front of him, his hand behind his back, his fist clenched and ready to punch.
Astra's body moved faster than his mind. He blocked the punch using his sword.
The gust of air formed by the punch made both of their blazers fly a bit.
He pushed the hand away.
Hito grinned. "You left an opening."
"Water Spiral."
A small spiral of water formed in his left hand. He then pushed his hand forward, making it connect with Astra's stomach.
A thin tornado of water flushed him wet and pushed him back.
Oh no. Astra flew back again, but this time he hit a pillar instead of landing. His ass touched the ground, his hair covered his eyes.
He wiped his hair away, making him able to see. His right hand moved a bit.
What's that? He looked right to see his sword lying next to him.
Hito walked slowly towards him. He formed a water ball in his right hand.
Astra picked up his sword. I got lucky that it flew to me.
He used his sword to get back up.
A gust of wind swept across the ground.
"Brrrrrrrrrr." Astra started shivering.
He smiled at Hito. "Looks like I can't hold back anymore."
He brought his sword next to his face, his sword pointed downward.
A glow of yellow air covered both him and his sword. His whole body's heat increased, making him not shiver anymore, and his eyes glowed as he slowly opened them.
Hito gave out a smile. Finally.
"Aura."
Astra brought his sword to a fighting stance. As he moved his sword, a glow of yellow followed it. "Let's start, genius."
Hito threw the ball of water at him, but he increased the speed of this one by a lot.
Astra didn't move away; rather, he just ran straight to it.
Slice.
Astra moved his sword beautifully, slicing the ball in half, but he didn't stop there. He held his sword in both his hands and pointed it at Hito. He then continued running to pierce him.
Hito twisted his body, dodging the blow barely, but Astra wasn't finished. He twisted his sword back and pushed it to pierce Hito's stomach.
Clang.
The sword got blocked by a black andfairly long staff. It had twisted black scales twisting over the staff, and at the end, a small blue magical orb was caught by four black scale-type vines.
Astra did a long backflip away from Hito, creating some distance between them.
"You have a soul weapon?" Astra's eyes widened as he asked.
"I found it during a dungeon crawl I did with some high-ranking mages."
A soul weapon is a weapon linked with the user's soul. These weapons can be manifested through thin air by the user. When the users die, the weapon disappears with them, but the weapons are indestructible.
There have been only a few people who have found a soul weapon, but finding the weapon is easier than binding it with your soul. The weapon chooses if it wants to bind with the person, not the other way around.
"Shall we continue?" Hito spoke.
"We have to end it somehow." Astra got ready to strike.
"Don't worry. This is going to end soon."
This time, Hito ran towards Astra, making Astra a bit shocked, but he got his grip back and was ready for the strike.
Hito made a water needle and shot it forward. Astra smiled. Is that all?
He deflected the needle away, but the smile on his face went away as he felt a shocking pain in his hip.
Hito was bent down in front of him. His knuckle was on Astra's hip. With a lot of power, he punched Astra, pushing him away.
"Ack."
Astra groaned and jumped three steps back.
"Being a mage doesn't mean I'm physically weak," he spoke while taking a boxing stance.
His staff was flying next to him.
This ain't a fight. I still didn't land a hit. Astra gasped for breath.
He then sprinted towards Hito again. He swung his sword, ready to slice him.
Clang.
The sword got blocked by the black staff.
"Nice attack."
He pushed his hand forward, aiming to strike Astra's hip again.
"You might be physically strong." Astra blocked the blow. Hito's eyes widened.
And in the next moment, Astra left his sword. He then twisted his body and landed a strong punch on Hito's face before he could dodge it.
"But you're not as strong as a true warrior."
Astra put his whole body weight in that punch, making Hito's face a bit deformed before making him fly a bit.
He landed on the ground and caressed his cheek in the area where he got hit.
Astra clenched his fist. "I finally landed a shot."
