Chapter 197 - 197. Scriptures

"Okay! This place is much harder to navigate at night than during the day!" Benkó scratched his head as the group turned down the third street.

"Listen, peeing boy, we can't help it that you can't follow the path." Achilleus rolled his eyes, but all it did was make his friend's hands clench into fists and he might have gotten a slap in the face if it weren't for Razvan, who stepped between the two boys at that moment, pretending not to notice that the two boys were just about to start a fight.

"We're almost there. Only two more turns." Rahul said loudly to his friends. "Then we just have to figure out how to get into the priests' quarters." He muttered the second sentence under his breath.

"I don't think you should worry about that." Citar shrugged.

"Why not?" Rahul asked back.

"Because all you have to do is say that you want to talk to him and we'll get in." The Bolacsuk boy waved.

"You have strange ideas." The chüvigh boy grimaced.

"Don't tell me you haven't noticed, Rahul. These priest trainees will do anything you tell them to do." Citar explained. "All you have to do is bat your eyelashes and you could almost spread them on bread." He grimaced. "In secind thought it doesn't sound so encouraging when you say it out loud." The boy shivered.

"You see horrors, Citar." Rahul shook his head.

"I don't want to put you down, but I have to agree with Citar, the priest trainees are really treating you quite strangely." Benkó remarked.

"Don't start." Rahul looked at Benkó in the pale blue dress with piercing eyes.

"I think you better let this go Rahul. The boys are right. You are a friend of the future preacher, that alone would be enough to make them take special care of you, so there is no need to deny it." Razvan interjected with a shrug.

"Thanks, Tapló boss!" Rahul growled at him.

"You are very welcome." Razvan smiled, but his smile seemed a little forced. "Believe me, I would be happier if they didn't like you so much, but we don't always get what we want." The leader of the Athamanas shrugged.

"Boss!" All the Athamanas said at once to the boy, who only blinked at his team.

"What did I say now?" Razvan looked around with a worried face, before Teveli buried his face in his palm.

"You are an unsaveable case." The Tele boy shook his head.

"Leave it." Rahul waved, but didn't look at their team leader, just kept walking through the streets.

"Congratulation, Razvan." Suk grumbled under his breath. "You made him mad again." He grimaced at the team leader.

"Are you coming?" Rahul turned back from the corner with a curious face when he realized that his team was not behind him. "Leave the boss alone, he didn't do anything." Rahul rolled his eyes as he started walking again.

"That's exactly the problem." Citar spread his arms, then followed Rahul, so that he wouldn't be left behind again. And the other Athamanas followed his example, so the team is soon standing in front of the temple of Floating Barracks, wondering which building the priests could be staying in.

"Good evening to you all. What brought you to the house of the Onegod so late at night, my children." Suddenly a serious voice spoke from behind the group and when they turned towards it the boys they found themselves facing an older priest standing at the door of the church.

"Good evening, Father. We are looking for the future preacher. We have something important to discuss with him." Rahul said in a kind voice and folded his hands and bowed slightly to show his respect.

"What is your name, young sir, and how do you know the future preacher?" The priest asked.

"I am an old friend of his from Míngrizimen, my name is Rahul." Rahul introduced himself, causing the priest's eyes to widen.

"I will immediately tell the future preacher that you are looking for him." The man turned around and hurried into the church.

"Here! What did I say? All you have to do is speak." Citar snapped his hands on his hips.

"Do you want me to strangle you?" Rahul turned to the Bolacsuk boy with an evil grin on his face.

"No, thank you." The boy raised his hands defensively. "Hi Santi!" Rahul suddenly looked behind him and greeted Santi, who had just appeared at the door of the temple.

"Hello to you too, Athamanas. I heard you have something important to discuss with me, what happened?" The future preacher asked as he hurried down the steps of the temple to the group.

"We have a few questions for you. First, did the future preacher not notice that the Onegod appeared tonight?" Razvan asked with narrowed eyes.

"So the Onegod appeared again. I felt his presence, but I didn't think he had taken a visible form again. I often feel his energies." The future preacher explained thoughtfully.

"Can you tell us about him?" Citar asked, in a much kinder voice than Razvan.

"Why should I? Rahul is here with you, he knows more about him than I do." Santi blinked in confusion, which only made the team turn towards Rahul as one person.

"What?" Rahul grimaced and folded his arms in front of him as he looked at his old friend.

"Why are you looking like that now? I'm right! You talked to him when you were a child, not me!" The future preacher spread his arms.

"You fell on your head Santi." Rahul rolled his eyes. "I don't know anything about him other than what our priest told me and that I met him once." The boy shrugged.

"Yes, once." Santi nodded. "Weekly." He stuck out his tongue. "Although, judging by the fact that you look like you don't understand what I'm talking about, you didn't realize that you were talking to him." The future preacher grimaced.

"I saw him only once and even then he said he eats children." Rahul got angry..

"That's exactly why he came back to see you." Santi put his hands on his hips.

"Why?" Citar asked.

"Because he didn't answer like average people." Santi shrugged.

"Why, how does the average person react?" Suk asked.

"They scream, and Rahul just said, 'That's good, because I'm a big boy now.'" Santi chuckled. "But I don't think that's useful information for you." He got sad, then suddenly clapped his hands. "I have an idea, if you really want to know about the Onegod, then the first thing you should look at are those scriptures." The boy explained.

"We're not initiated, Santi, we can't read them." Rahul shook his head.

"You're not, but I can." The future preacher grinned. "Come. I'll give you a reading evening. Maybe you'll learn something new." The boy chuckled.

"Or we are just wasting our time with mere tales." Rahul sighed.

"Come on Rahul, don't be so negative. You can learn from tales too." Santi explained, then looked at the team. "Come on, it will be more comfortable inside." He nodded towards the temple, then without waiting for the hegins to react to his words, he headed back to the temple. The team looked at Razvan, waiting for his order.

"We don't have a better idea. Let's listen to chüvigh tales. Rahul, lead us, you know how to behave properly." The leader of the Athamanas sighed, and his team followed Rahul towards the temple.
