Chapter 60 - Oolong Rose Tea

All eyes turned to the young delivery guy dressed in his uniform.

"Wow, Sister Bailey, you're wrapping up the shoot today, and someone sent you a gift! It must be from Mr. Edwards!"

"Yeah, Mr. Edwards hasn't shown up at all, and now he's pulling out the big surprise at the end!"

"Oh my, having such a wonderful husband is really something to be envious of!"

The envious voices around her rose and fell like waves.

Bailey was equally smug. She had been filming this project for almost two months and had been hoping Harry would visit the set. But Harry had been too busy. She hadn't expected that he would send a gift now that the shoot was over.

Celeste nudged Bailey with her elbow.

"Sister Bailey, our Mr. Edwards is really thoughtful! He didn't visit the set, but he's making up for it now."

Bailey's heart was already bursting with joy, but she kept a modest smile on her face.

"Oh, you guys, stop making things up."

"Miss Avery, could you please come and sign for this?" the delivery guy urged.

Bailey and Celeste walked over, followed by a crowd of curious onlookers, all eager to see what Harry had sent.

"I bet it's diamonds. Mr. Edwards is so wealthy; the gift must be extraordinary."

"Maybe it's some rare jewelry, something we've never seen before!"

Everyone was guessing what the gift could be. Bailey was naturally the most curious.

As soon as she stepped out the door, a rich fragrance hit her nose.

Wow—

All the women were stunned the moment they walked out!

Ecuadorian rainbow roses!

A whole cart full of them!

They appeared dazzlingly before everyone's eyes.

It looked like there were 999 roses!

"Oh my gosh— Mr. Edwards is so romantic!"

"Heavens, my heart is about to burst!"

"I wish I had such a wonderful husband too!"

Bailey couldn't help but feel her heart flutter at the sight of the 999 Ecuadorian rainbow roses.

Harry Edwards had given her many things, including flowers, but such a grand gesture was unprecedented!

"I heard that due to the weather this year, the production of Ecuadorian roses wasn't good, and the price is the highest it's ever been!"

"I also heard they are in limited supply, with restrictions on how many you can buy!"

"Wow, the cost of these 999 roses... Mr. Edwards really went all out!"

The group of women chattered away, all envious of Bailey.

It was the first time Bailey had seen so many, so large, and so beautiful roses.

The delivery guy urged, "Miss Avery, could you please sign for this?"

Bailey took the delivery slip and casually signed her name with a flourish.

She then rushed over to her rainbow roses, carefully picking one up and taking a sniff. "So fragrant," she murmured.

The delivery guy glanced at the signature and immediately frowned.

"Put all these roses in my car," Bailey ordered, a smug look on her face.

As the other delivery workers behind him were about to start moving the items, the delivery guy who had handled the signature shouted, "Wait a minute!"

He walked up to Bailey. "Excuse me, what's your name?"

Bailey rolled her eyes, clearly unimpressed by the delivery guy in front of her.

Celeste quickly stepped forward. "Are you blind? This is Bailey Avery, Miss Avery, the fiancée of Harry Edwards, the CEO of Artis International!"

That was a name that carried weight.

Soon enough, she could also add "famous actress" to the end of Bailey's title.

"Bailey Avery?" The delivery guy scratched his head. "There's a mistake. These roses aren't for Bailey Avery; they're for Julia Avery!"

Bailey's face instantly darkened. "Impossible!"

"Yeah, how could that be? Who would send such an extravagant gift to Julia Avery?" Celeste chimed in.

The delivery guy pulled out the delivery slip and pointed to the name Julia Avery. "It clearly says Julia Avery."

Bailey's face turned even more sour.

The group of girls who had been enviously whispering about Bailey now found themselves in an awkward situation.

"Julia Avery, is there a Miss Julia Avery here?" the delivery guy called out.

Julia, who had been chatting with some staff members, was alerted by one of them and finally stepped forward.

"Miss Julia Avery, please sign for this," the delivery guy said, handing over the delivery slip.

Julia glanced at the extravagant bouquet of roses and immediately thought of someone.

Oh no!

That rascal had mentioned a surprise last night, and she had completely forgotten about it!

Julia quickly signed her name but paused when she saw Bailey's name on the delivery slip.

It must have been a mix-up.

Seeing Julia sign, Bailey clenched her teeth in frustration.

The delivery guy, relieved to have finally found the right recipient, sighed in relief.

"Wait a minute!" Julia called out, stopping them.

"Is there something else, Miss Avery?" the delivery guy asked respectfully.

"Can you take these back? I don't have anywhere to put them," Julia said.

"Huh?" The delivery guy looked troubled. After coming all this way, she wanted them to take it back?

Everyone at the scene was utterly baffled!

Such beautiful roses, and Julia didn't want them!

Although Bailey had kept a straight face, it was clear she was quite pleased with the flowers.

But Julia didn't want them?

"Miss Avery, why don't you just give them away? We came all this way to deliver them, and now you want us to take them back?"

Julia turned around and said, "Anyone who likes them can take them."

"Julia, are you serious?"

"Yes, take as many as you want. There are too many for me to carry anyway. If you like them, just take them."

A swarm of lesser-known actors and staff members rushed forward, each grabbing two or three roses. In no time, more than half of the roses were gone.

Bailey stood still, along with some of her close associates, all of whom wore expressions of disdain.

"Thank you, Julia!"

"Julia, you're so generous!"

Those who got the roses thanked Julia profusely.

Soon, only a small portion of the roses remained.

The delivery guy, being quite clever, discussed with Julia and suggested selling the remaining roses at a nearby flower shop at a low price. Julia agreed.

Julia quickly managed to collect $300 and used the money to buy some iced tea for the crew. With the weather heating up, the iced tea brought immediate relief to everyone, earning Julia more praise and a good reputation.

Bailey was so angry that she stomped her foot.

After a while, another delivery guy arrived.

"Miss Avery, you have a package. Could you please sign for it?"

Bailey instinctively took a step forward but immediately pulled back. What if it wasn't for her again?

Celeste thought for a moment and said, "Sister Bailey, Julia doesn't have many connections. It can't be for her again, right? This time, it's definitely from Mr. Edwards. Whether we can save face depends on this."
