Hearing the mocking laughter, Zenitsu Agatsuma's entire body tensed up, and he hugged Nezuko.
Nezuko didn't react, allowing Zenitsu to hold her without even glancing at him.
Zenitsu held her like a doll.
He took advantage of the situation, but his hands remained decent, not touching any sensitive areas. He simply held her arms.
Upon hearing the laughter, Ryuji's expression darkened, and he became alert, shielding the siblings behind him.
Tanjiro placed his hand on his sword hilt, ready to draw his Nichirin sword.
"Zenitsu, your hearing is excellent. From which direction did the sound come?" Ryuji asked.
Zenitsu pointed in a direction.
Ryuji immediately attacked in that direction.
"Water Breathing, Eleventh Form: Water Shadow Slash!"
The trees within a 50-meter radius were severed by Ryuji's sword energy. He saw a dark figure leap into the air and land steadily on the ground.
"Such a strong aura! Even stronger than Susamaru's!" Tanjiro's expression darkened after sensing the figure's aura.
Ryuji didn't attack again, but his two-colored Nichirin sword was drawn.
The dark figure approached them. In the light of the villa's fire, they saw the figure clearly.
It was a young man, about 17 years old, short, with tattoo-like markings on his face. He had striking eyes; one pupil had the words "Lower Rank" and the other had the number six.
Seeing the words on the man's pupils, Tanjiro recalled Tamayo's words.
This {demon} was one of the Twelve Kizuki, Muzan Kibutsuji's subordinates.
The Twelve Kizuki were divided into Upper and Lower Ranks, six in each, totaling twelve.
The Upper Ranks were stronger than the Lower Ranks.
This must be a real Twelve Kizuki, Tanjiro thought.
Although this was Lower Rank Six, supposedly the weakest, no one knew the extent of their strength.
Zenitsu didn't know about the Twelve Kizuki, but he could sense from the {demon}'s heartbeat that this one was different from the others.
Ryuji saw the words on Lower Rank Six's eyes and knew this was likely one of the Twelve Kizuki.
"The intel said the white-haired one was the toughest. It seems true! Trying to intimidate me before we even meet. That's quite arrogant," Lower Rank Six said coldly to Ryuji.
Zenitsu shouted, "Ryuji, see! I told you not to always fight {demons}. Now you've become a wanted criminal among {demons}!"
