Unknown Forest, Far Eastern Edge

The forest had a peculiar silence to it—so still, so breathless, that even the rustling leaves seemed to hold their breath in reverence. Neji Hyuga sat at the edge of a jagged cliff, knees folded, palms open. Since the night Hinata had stood with a gouged eye and the broken composure of a child trying to be strong, something inside him had awakened. Or perhaps, something had been shattered.

The transformation—no, the awakening—that followed had been brief, violent, and ethereal. His memory of that moment was fragmentary at best. What he did remember clearly was the overwhelming force coursing through him, the blinding hue of deep royal blue radiating from his eyes, and a sudden silence inside his mind—as if every lie, doubt, or delusion had been burned away. And then blackness.

Since then, he had tried to trigger that state again, drawing on every thread of memory, emotion, and chakra. So far, he had failed.

But something else had changed. The True Eyes, as he'd come to call them, were now accessible at will—though not without cost. When activated, his irises shifted into a stunning, crystalline lattice of radiant royal blue, layered with fractal geometries that pulsed like breathing constellations. The sheer intensity of vision often gave him headaches, but he was adapting.

The True Eyes now granted him finer perception of chakra: not just its presence, but its composition—its density, flow vectors, harmonic frequencies.

He could now; Dissect foreign chakra patterns to identify clan-specific traits, something no Byakugan or Sharingan could do with such clarity.

Sense disruptions or misalignments in someone's internal chakra coils, even tracking emotional anomalies reflected in chakra turbulence.

Focus through obstructions, even chakra-masking genjutsu—though not completely reliably.

However, he still could not enter the "awakened form" again—the transformation that had bent space around him and lit his vision like a supernova. His body simply could not handle it yet. After each attempt, he collapsed for hours or even days, sometimes convulsing from chakra burnout.

A large stone rested in the shadow of a leaning pine, and on it, Neji placed the half-burnt scroll: The Lost Hyuga Heritage. The edges were crisped by fire, and the ink smeared by time and blood. Carefully unfurling it, he began to read.

Most of the text was unintelligible, but a technique name stood clear in old-style kanji:

"八卦千針雨" – Eight Trigrams: Thousand Needle Rain.

From the fragmented sections, Neji gathered the technique's concept: a long-range adaptation of the Gentle Fist, utilizing hyper-threaded chakra filaments condensed into ultra-fine needles.

Emission of chakra needles from the palms, targeting a limited number of tenketsu. Simultaneous emission from multiple tenketsu across the body, increasing coverage and complexity. Omnidirectional emission from all 361 tenketsu, creating a storm of chakra needles capable of overwhelming multiple opponents.

Neji began with the Initiate Level, focusing chakra into his palms and attempting to emit it as concentrated needles. His first attempts resulted in unstable bursts, the chakra dissipating before forming coherent shapes. Adjusting his chakra flow, he managed to project short, needle-like extensions, though they lacked the necessary velocity and precision.

Transitioning to the Intermediate Level, he endeavored to emit chakra from multiple tenketsu simultaneously. This required meticulous control, as each tenketsu had to release chakra in harmony. Utilizing his True Eyes, he monitored the chakra flow, identifying inconsistencies and adjusting accordingly. After numerous trials, he succeeded in emitting a modest array of chakra needles from his upper body, though the lower tenketsu remained unresponsive.

The Master Level remained elusive. The sheer complexity of coordinating all 361 tenketsu was daunting, and without the complete instructions, Neji faced a formidable challenge. Nevertheless, he was determined to persevere.

The scientific principle at play involved the manipulation of chakra's physical properties—density, cohesion, and flow dynamics. By adjusting these parameters, Neji aimed to create stable, functional constructs. His efforts marked a significant departure from traditional Hyūga techniques, venturing into uncharted territory.

The user had to create micro-thin chakra filaments, fully under conscious control, extending from fingertips.

"Chakra must achieve cohesive tensile flow, resisting disintegration under ambient disruption. Precision over force. Stability over quantity."

With his True Eyes, Neji could now visualize how chakra unfurled from his tenketsu—like filaments of energy extending into space. He began by focusing it at his fingertip, narrowing it strand by strand. After several days of trial and error, he was finally able to extrude a 30-centimeter chakra thread that maintained structural cohesion.

The threads had to obey his will, like extra limbs of thought. He practiced weaving them into shapes: spirals, loops, even the crude outlines of a kanji symbol. It was tedious. Each lapse in focus caused the thread to dissipate. Over time, he could maintain three threads simultaneously for about five seconds.
