Chapter 85 - OPRS: Chapter 85

"Let me introduce myself," Alistair said, bowing slightly to Enel.

"I'm Alistair, leader of everyone except the Shandorians."

"And you are?"

He looked at the tall man with large earlobes and thick eyebrows. He knew his name was Enel but couldn't bring himself to say it.

This was a tough battle.

Alistair remained calm and clear-headed.

"Interesting. I am Enel, God."

He had no priests but had conquered Skypiea, becoming the new god.

This had inflated his ego; he approached Alistair with arrogance.

Ace and Hancock stepped forward, partially shielding Alistair.

They feared a surprise attack.

"Amusing. You're the weakest, yet the leader?"

"The brains?" Enel smiled confidently.

He had reason to be confident.

He wasn't weak—he was strong.

Even in the Blue Sea, he'd be top-tier.

For Logia-types, the only way to harm them was with superior Observation and Armament Haki.

How many possessed stronger Observation Haki than Enel?

Very few.

With his Logia powers, unless ambushed like Ace by Blackbeard (using the Yami Yami no Mi to restrain and severely injure him), even Aokiji and Akainu together would struggle to capture him—he wasn't stupid; he'd run if he couldn't win.

Ace's fight with Blackbeard was hampered by overconfidence.

Enel was different; his speed was second only to Kizaru (perhaps equal). He could attack or retreat instantly.

His arrogance stemmed from his unchallenged reign over Skypiea.

When someone can't even harm a hair on your head, you might see them as inferior.

Alistair remained calm.

He nodded slightly. "Indeed."

His guess was confirmed; Enel laughed.

"I like you!" Though impressed by Hancock, he pointed at Alistair.

"Want to join me on the limitless land?"

"If you can prove you're stronger, I'm willing." Alistair smiled modestly.

But gesturing to Ace, he said, "I have strong subordinates; you'll have to defeat them first."

Alistair aimed for a high-level clash, not sending his untrained fighters against Enel's electric attacks.

"This is a Shandorian battle! Don't underestimate us!" Unable to contain themselves after Enel declared himself a god, the Shandorians attacked.

As they said,

"This is my war!"

"Ace, let them go." Alistair didn't move, stopping Ace from interfering.

Ace looked back, confused. Enel gave Alistair a "You're smart" look, then relaxed.

He saw Alistair's submission; he'd use these underlings to showcase his power.

Enel stood still, letting Wyper and the others fire. Bullets passed through him; he yawned boredly; their actions were laughable through his Mantra.

Bullets passed through him; swords swung through air.

No one could hit lightning.

Enel stood arrogantly, but the pirates understood.

"Another Logia…"

They murmured.

The clever ones looked at Alistair fearfully.

He seemed to have a way to find Logia users; he gave one to his subordinate; was he after Enel's fruit?

If so, he was terrifying.

Their gazes held awe.

Enel ignored the underlings; he couldn't multitask; his focus was on the Shandorians.

The Shandorians were naive.

Luffy and Buggy were understandable, but this level of intangibility was beyond their comprehension.

They couldn't harm Enel: Flash Shells and muskets, Gas Shells and flames, even Impact Shells…

This was disheartening; even the Shandorians lost confidence.

They grew weaker; Enel grew bored.

"I wanted to give you a chance, but a god must use both reward and punishment." Enel, childishly bored, laughed, spreading his arms.

"Sixty million volts, discharge!"

Lightning engulfed him; the Shandorians fell.

Smoke rose from them; they looked half-cooked.

Alistair knew this was an illusion; these warriors could withstand most injuries as long as their heads weren't severed.

But sixty million volts incapacitated them.

The pirates fell silent, witnessing Enel's power.

This was a high-level battle; they had no say.

This was why Alistair held Ace back.

Ace gave Alistair a reassuring look, removed his shirt, and stepped forward.

"I'm different." Even now, they hadn't fully clashed.

Enel saw Ace and Alistair as future subordinates.

He nonchalantly said, "Don't worry, you're different. I won't hurt you. Come." He beckoned Ace.

Ace smirked; he liked being underestimated.

He'd give him a gift!

He accelerated, flames erupting from his feet, reaching Enel, his arm darkening, punching Enel in the face.

Enel was caught off guard; even anticipating the attack, his body reacted slowly. He was sent flying, transforming into lightning to evade Ace, landing on the ground, looking at Ace with surprise.

"You haven't been hit since eating that fruit, have you?" Ace smirked.

After Ace ate the Mera Mera no Mi and mastered elementalization, Alistair had an Amazonian warrior train him.

That day, Ace was beaten badly, remembering his grandfather's iron fist.

He understood a new power: Armament Haki.

Then, he mastered it…

Talented individuals mastered things quickly.

Within a year or two of setting sail, he fought evenly with Jimbei, even having an advantage due to the Mera Mera no Mi. He was stronger than Jimbei. His early exposure to strong opponents and Haki made him stronger!

Alistair's guidance prevented him from taking detours—Devil Fruits, especially Logia-types, had greater destructive power than Haki. Many focused on their Devil Fruit powers; the Admirals were prime examples; they rarely used Haki; their opponents couldn't withstand their attacks.

People have limited energy; focusing on Devil Fruit power leaves less time for Haki.

Only two people saw this: Zephyr and Alistair.

When two Logia users aren't mutually counteractive, the outcome depends on two things: mentality and Observation Haki.

Devil Fruit power becomes irrelevant—everyone has it, it cancels out!
