Jay Jay's POV
Yesterday, I got discharged from the hospital. Finally, I was back at home. Movie had really truly said-home sweet home. But wait, isn't the name pointless. How could home be sweet. nvm. I will just ask ci later. 🤔
"Jay you are slower than a tortoise." Aries shouted. I rolled my eyes. How can he get ready so damn fast? Maybe he just doesn't bathe properly.
I guess I had already forgiven Aries for the secret thing because I didn't like that he got hurt because of me.
"Jay come fast." Aries yelled again. Snapping out of my thoughts. I quickened my pace. Combed my hair and quickly hurried downstairs. I saw Tita drinking a cup of coffee. Black coffee. Ugggh…. how could people actually drink something bitter like this?
"Jay how are you feeling?" tita asked me. "Better than before. Pain in my waist is much better." I said with a smile. "Jay come out fast, because of you we will be late." Aries shouted from outside. Aunt put aside the cup of coffee and hugged me. So, I returned it to her. "Take care, Jay. If you have any problem just tell Aries or call Angelo."
Tita said and fixed my hair gently. I said tita goodbye and ran outside to Aries new car. "Jay come fast. I don't want to late because of you" Aries said annoyed .I slid into the passenger seat and felt… weird. Don't we usually take Ella? I normally sit in the back when she's with us.
"Oyii horoscope." I called him. He pinched my elbow. "Oww…what the hell??" I cried from pain. "Stop calling me horoscope." He said irritated.
"Aren't we picking up your girlfriend today?" I asked with a smile hoping him to say no. "MY girlfriend has a name and as far as I remember you know it. And for your question, yes we are picking her." My smile turned upside down into a frown.
"Why do we have to take Ella? I thought you allowed me to sit in front seat because she isn't travelling with us today." I said and scoffed.
"Jay, I only allowed you in front seat cause of the wound in your waist so you could be more comfortable." Aries said to me like he was explaining a 5-year-old.
I suddenly remembered Yuri was also living with us. the president of SLC. shouldn't he also come with us??? I hadn't had a proper talk with him since the time when a man entered our house. He acting very strangely then. Maybe alcohol has hit the head our president.
" Ariess" I called him. "hmm" he replied. Wow what a proper reply.
"Why isn't Yuri joining us? I haven't seen him since morning." I asked him. "IDK I asked mama gema about him she said he had left early morning." He replied and I nodded.
Where could he have gone early in the morning? Why am I even thinking I would ask him later? But maybe he could be in danger like before? But he had called me then. I would just really ask him later.
Aries tapped the steering wheel impatiently, like the sound of his fingers drumming could speed up time.
We drove in silence for a few minutes. The kind of silence that wasn't awkward, but also wasn't exactly comfortable. Just… there. Like a third passenger neither of us invited.
"So…" I said, trying to break the silence. "How's your girlfriend doing these days?" I exaggerated the word and gave him a look.
Aries didn't even bother to glance at me.
"She's fine, Jay." He replied. "How is your and your girlfriend status??" I asked earning another glare from him.
"You know, you don't have to bring her up every five minutes." "Right. Sorry," I said with fake sweetness. I shouldn't say it? Maybe. Worth destroying his mood? Definitely.
We turned to a corner seeing Ella standing outside of her house in a pink hoodie above her school uniform. Looking like an angel in disguise.
I quickly looked away and pretended to scroll on phone. "She's coming" he said like I didn't already see her. "No way ,really thanks for the update, Siri" I said as he flicked my forehead. "aww"
To my surprise, instead of heading for the back, Ella walked straight up to the front door of the car. She pulled the handle and opened it, then blinked at me. "Oh—Jay? You're sitting here?" she said, confused but trying to hide it with a smile.
Actually I would be more surprised if she wouldn't. " Yeah, shocking, right?" I replied,. "Don't worry, it's not permanent. I'm just injured." I said and got a glare from Aries.
Her smile tightened, but she didn't say anything. Instead, she climbed into the back seat. The car filled instantly with her perfume—of course it smelled like overpriced roses.
Before even buckling her seatbelt, she leaned forward and planted a kiss on Aries's cheek.
"Morning, babe," she said sweetly.
"Eww," I muttered immediately. "Some of us are trying to recover, not throwup. " I said. Aries glanced sideways at me with a half-smile, then back at the road.
"Get used to it."he said. "No thanks. I'll pass," I said, dramatically rolling down the window like the air had become too engrossed with love to breathe.
