"I wasn't aware I was going to be staying away from home the entire time." Beth said quietly, as they buckled their seat belts, mild accusation in her tone.
She wasn't against being away from home, but she wasn't someone who liked to be left on the sidelines.
"I reasoned it would be more efficient that way. Besides you don't enjoy being on the road for too long." Troy explained easily, turning on the ignition.
"Efficient, yes. But keeping it from me is definitely not cute, Troy." Beth said, staring straight into the fields surrounding her house, anger rising in her chest.
"Beth-"
"No, Troy. I might be eighteen, but I don't like it when people make decisions for me. You tell me the details, and let me make my decisions." She stated clearly, facing him directly. "I'm your mate, not your child."
Honestly, she was still getting around the whole 'mate' thing, and now he was making decisions for her?
