The sky was painted in velvet. Red-streaked clouds lazily rolled above Washington. The windows of the East Wing glowed gold, casting long shadows across the empty corridor.
President Godwin Babama stood with his hands behind his back, watching the sun dip below the horizon. The hum of psychic energy still buzzed faintly behind his ears. The echoes of other minds had finally quieted, but their emotional residue clung like sweat on the skin.
Then footsteps. Poised. Light.
Solarius entered without a word.
The man glowed literally. The air shimmered faintly around him like it was bending to his presence. Gold-white threads of light traced down his longcoat like veins of divinity. A halo not of light, but of certainty seemed to crown him.
"You called for me, Mr. President?"
Godwin didn't turn.
"I had a vision, Solarius."
A pause.
"It was Crow."
