Chapter 1 - Chapter One: A - Abhir

Abhir. A name so simple, yet behind it lay a world of emotions, loneliness, and silent strength.

He was a boy born without a name or a family. Life hadn't been kind to him. Orphaned at a young age, Abhir grew up without the warmth of a mother's hug or the protective hand of a father. He had no siblings to laugh or fight with, no relatives to visit during festivals. The orphanage was his only home, and the cold walls were his only comfort.

Even after leaving the orphanage at sixteen, life continued to test him. There was no one to guide him, no hand to hold when things got rough. But still, he smiled. He believed in goodness. He believed that someday, someone would truly see him.

In his lonely world, he had four people he called friends. But friendship, like many things in his life, was one-sided.

Varun, the first, was Abhir's classmate and the most selfish one of all. For Varun, Abhir was not a friend—he was a helper. Varun made Abhir do all his assignments, get his notes, run errands, and never once thanked him. But Abhir didn't mind. Somewhere in his heart, he thought maybe if he kept helping, Varun would one day become a real friend.

Rahul, the second, only cared about money and success. He believed emotions were useless, and for him, Abhir was invisible. Rahul didn't talk to him unless he needed something. "If you can't help me get rich, you're wasting my time," he once told Abhir with a smirk. Still, Abhir admired his confidence and kept hoping Rahul would someday see his loyalty.

Soni, the third, treated Abhir like a brother—but not in the loving way. She constantly asked him for favors, whether it was carrying her books, helping with college projects, or solving her problems. She never asked how he was doing, never noticed the sadness in his eyes. Yet Abhir cared for her deeply, and protected her like a real brother would.

Sunny, the fourth, was different. Sunny was the only one who truly saw Abhir. He was kind, quiet, and thoughtful. Sunny would sometimes sit beside Abhir in silence, understanding that not every pain needed words. Abhir didn't know that Sunny had once liked him—his first crush—but he always felt safe around him. Sunny was the only one who didn't use him.

Abhir knew the truth. He knew that most of them didn't really care about him. Still, his heart remained loyal. He believed in giving, in loving, in standing by the people he called his own. Even if it meant getting nothing in return. He often told himself, "If I can be the reason someone smiles, that's enough for me."

He would do anything for them.

Even die for them.

Because that was Abhir—a boy with nothing, yet a heart full of everything.

And this was just the beginning of his journey.
