Axel returned his grandmother's warm smile and stepped forward. As soon as he reached her, she wrapped her arms around him in a surprisingly strong hug. Though caught off guard, Axel allowed himself to melt into the embrace, his arms coming up to return it.
When they finally pulled apart, he looked into her gentle eyes and said, "I'm back."
"Welcome, welcome! Come inside quickly, fast fast," she chirped, ushering him inside with the same energy she'd always had.
The interior of the mansion hadn't changed much. It was still luxurious, but modest and tastefully decorated, a reflection of his family's quiet wealth and practical lifestyle. As he stepped into the sitting room, Axel saw a tall figure standing by the window. It was his father, Draco.
Draco turned, his eyes softening as he walked up and gave Axel a firm pat on the back. "Welcome back, son."
"Thank you, Father," Axel said, his voice steady, though his eyes subtly scanned the room.
