Chapter 26 - Bait?

After his count, he concluded that there were 11 in the group. Included in the group was an elf. Tim was not too surprised. People were crazy either way.

Whether they were humans or not.

"So, it seems that you have no intention of letting me go, even though I came to you in peace and I offered to pay your group handsomely." Tim said, as he started to move back slowly.

"You are finally catching on kid. You would sell for a lovely price I say. Those white hair of yours means that you are probably from a powerful family.

People like to bid really high merchandise like you.

Ottis, tie this kid up and place hm in the cave with the rest of the filths." The leader said.

Ottis stepped forward and Tim noticed that the one that stepped forward was the elf.

Tim looked at the elf that was coming to tie him. he searched for any single sign of remorse or pity or even fear, but they were all absent from the face of the elf.

It seemed like the elf was totally ok with doing the biddings of the leader. As the elf neared, Tim suddenly had a thought. An idea.

Since he could not tell the general level of the then he should be able to know if he kills the elf.

Quickly concluding on his newly formulated plan, Tim joined his hands together and willingly submitted them to Ottis for him to tie it.

Ottis was shocked by the submission from Tim. Usually when he was ever tying up anyone there was always some sort of resistance or plea. He loved it when he was begged for mercy.

Tim on the other hand did neither, in fact he looked as if he was happy to be captured.

"Death Embrace." Tim muttered inaudibly as Otis neared him. his palms were joined together but underneath his right palm was a thorn that was growing little by little.

Reaching in front of Tim, as Ottis grabbed Tim's left hand without delay Tim used his right hand that had a sharp thorn on it to slam the lower jaw of Ottis.

Tim was not done, as he felt the blood of Ottis, he finished the job properly by extending the thorn that had pierced through Ottis's lower jaw. PUICHH

The thorn legitimately came out of Ottis's head. Tim detached his hand and did a back flip hurriedly.

Black smoke emanated from Ottis body and almost immediately the smoke swallowed Ottis and disappeared. Leaving not a single drop of Ottis's belongings or blood.

The group were truly shocked. What had just happened?

Not wasting a single second of the shock in everyone's faces, he bolted towards the forest and he waited for that particular notification.

"There you are."

[Dead Summon available -> Elf]

"Shit, a freaking level 14. It was a right decision for me to flee. But I can't run too far away from the group. I still need to save those elves." Tim said, as he made up his mind.

After what he saw, he could not leave those elves in the hands of those slave traders.

Even though he was betrayed by the elves and he was banished, what he saw was too much. He did have a soft spot when it came to injustice.

Especially injustice to those that can't make their decisions on their own. Those that were still young and growing.

He was already using his death embrace skill, but he never even wondered if he could stack the skill together.

Ottis undead body would make it his 3rd undead summon. The death embrace skill instructed that he could not use the skill and summon the undead it was used on concurrently, but it did not specify if he could use it on another dead summons concurrently or not.

He wanted to test it out, but he held on the thought and stopped in his tracks.

He looked back and figured that he was not chased. It was weird, were they not slave traders.

Honestly, he had expected them to chase him and he would have used that opportunity to kill them off one by one.

His stealth and hunting skills were on another level thanks dungeon experience.

Back at the group of slave traders. Shock was still written on their respective faces.

What just happened. Ottis was a strong member of their group, so he usually instructed Ottis to tie up the slaves that they acquired, but what the particular elf did was truly shocking.

According to their eyes, the elf submitted his hands willingly to be captured by them, but when Ottis was about to tie the kid up, the kid struck and Ottis died on the spot, because apparently something stabbed Ottis.

"I did not even see the blade that he used to cause so much blood to Ottis." The leader said facing the other leader that was at the spot Ottis's body was before it was swallowed by the black smoke.

"What is truly amazing is the skill of that elf. What was that black smoke that appeared?

I can't be the only one to have witnessed the smoke right." The other leader asked the group.

"We also saw it boss."

"Yeah, I saw how it swallowed Ottis. It was as if the smoke was alive."

"What do we do now? We lost a member. The boy is on the loose. We were fully humiliated.

What should be our next course of action." The leader asked the other leader that was still inspecting the spot where Ottis died.

"Our next cause of action is to wait. He will surely comeback. I don't think he will want to leave his people in the hands of us.

He is probably angry and he wants us to chase hm into the forest and leave this road.

We will not satisfy his wants. We are to resume our journey." The other leader said with a calm demeanour.
