Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Fiancée

In any game, players would have at least one character that they loved more than the others. So much to the point that they always used that character no matter what happened.

And Ash was no exception as he also had a character that he loved very much.

But unlike others who were willing to abandon that character when a new, more attractive one was released, Ash had never betrayed this character even once.

No matter how attractive the new characters were or how great their story was, Ash was still loyal to her.

Furina Faelan was the name of that girl.

And surprisingly, right now, that girl, the one who had made him unable to feel interested in any other girl, was sitting in his room like a powerful and majestic queen.

"Huh…?"

The moment he saw her in his room, Ash really didn't know what to say anymore.

He was completely speechless, standing there as if he was already dead, unable to even breathe.

"Why…" He muttered like a child learning to speak.

Furina didn't pay any attention to his strange reaction but just sat there, looking at him with an amused and slightly happy gaze.

***

She was a wonderful woman, cold, beautiful, intelligent, talented, but also very… pitiful.

Thinking of this, Ash couldn't help but feel an indescribable sadness rising inside his chest.

In the game False Horizon, Furina Faelan was the character he loved the most, but for some reason, the game developer had decided to let her go without explaining the reason for that action.

And when he went through that story, Ash was forced to prepare a box of tissues to wipe away his unstoppable tears.

Ash didn't want to see his favorite character die, but he was forced to admit that that part was a great story that no other game could compare to.

The death of Furina Faelan had definitely made a lot of people cry.

Ever since Furina Faelan appeared in the game, she never had a genuine smile on her face. All of her smiles contained a great sadness that was hard to describe.

And the game developer never explained the reason for creating such a character.

Her past was not revealed, all the players knew about her was that Furina was very rich and powerful, she could be said to be a character with nothing outstanding.

But even so, her death still successfully moved many people.

But right now, she was still alive, and even more amazingly, she was right in front of him.

Her long white hair still looked as smooth as in the game.

Her crimson eyes were still the same, completely unchanged.

Her face was bare of makeup but still beautiful and gorgeous like a female celebrity, even prettier than all of them combined. There wasn't too much excess fat but it wasn't so skinny that it was just bones.

She was perfect, just like in the game.

Furina still exuded a cold, mysterious, and powerful appearance. But there was one difference that Ash had noticed since he saw her here from the beginning.

That was, her eyes didn't look sad or lifeless at all. On the contrary, there was an indescribable light joy in them.

While Ash was still silently enjoying Furina's charm, completely captivated by her face, the butler's voice had completely pulled him back to normal:

"Oh Miss Furina, you came here today? What a pity, if you had told me in advance, I would have prepared something for you to eat and drink."

The butler hurriedly walked around the room, preparing to make a perfect cup of tea and taking out some cakes to munch on.

Furina smiled gently, something she had never done before in the game False Horizon.

"No need, Gilbert. I'm fine. Can you please go outside, I have something to say to the Third Prince of the Empire."

Gilbert stopped everything he was doing, gently bowed to Ash and Furina before gently leaving the room, leaving a man and woman alone in a room together.

Ash swallowed, trying his best to resist being swept away by her charm:

"T-Then Miss Furina… what business do you have here?"

Furina didn't reply, but instead stood up calmly and walked towards Ash. As she walked, she took off her two white gloves, revealing a hand that was as cute as her appearance.

Then, her right hand slowly touched Ash's chin and caressed it.

'Eh…' Ash was completely motionless, his heart beating wildly.

"Why can't I come to see my fiancé? Today is the day you return. So as your fiancée, I still have to come here."

She whispered into his ear words as sweet as honey and as warm as the summer sun, causing Ash's whole body to tremble slightly.

'Huh? What? What did she just say? Fiance? Whose fiance? My fiance?' He couldn't handle it anymore. The amount of information he had just received was just too fucking much!

Why did a useless person like the Third Prince have such a wonderful fiancée?

Did he save the world in his previous life to get such a reward?

This was unfair! Completely unacceptable!

Currently, his brain was working at full capacity and it was about to overload.

And then, what had to happen happened. Both of Furina's hands touched Ash's cheeks and slowly pulled his face closer to hers, looking forward to a passionate kiss between lovers.

In Ash's vision, her face was becoming clearer and clearer, and his heart was also beating faster than ever.

He thought to himself:

'How could someone so beautiful exist in this world?'

It was like… she reached out and stole his heart.

There, at that moment, Ash finally understood the true definition of the word "beautiful".

She wanted a kiss and so did him. Both of them were looking forward to that. But…deep down, Ash knew that he was not allowed to have this kind of feeling.

She was Ash "Worthless" Voidveil's fiancée, not his.

Moreover, the two of them did not belong to each other in the first place. Ash and Furina lived in two different worlds, although they were somewhat related to each other, they could never come together.

He was very scared, he was scared that if he accidentally fell in love with her, when he returned to his world, Ash would have to go through horrible pain that he couldn't overcome.

He didn't want to experience that feeling at all.

So, before things became irreparable…he blocked Furina's lips with his rough hand.

Causing her mood to plummet.

"Sorry, I'm a bit tired today, can you come back another day?"

It was a weak voice, not like his usual self at all. But that was enough to make Furina stop completely.
