Ash couldn't see anything, couldn't speak, and couldn't hear any sounds. He wasn't even allowed to walk, and was being carried around like a piece of equipment.
Ash didn't know where he was being taken, but the soldiers and Modric had been moving for over 30 minutes now and still showed no signs of stopping.
The place he was being taken to definitely couldn't be that far away, so the only guess he could come up with was that they were just being cautious.
How important could that place be?
Why didn't even the Third Prince of the Empire have the right to see it?
Well, none of that mattered anymore as his feet were gently touching the ground and the items that were restricting his senses were slowly being removed.
First his mouth, then his ears, and finally his eyes.
Since he hadn't been able to see for a long time, Ash was quite worried that it would take him a while to adjust to the light.
But that wasn't the case. The place Ash was currently in was a little dark, thus, his eyes adapted quickly.
"Where are we?" Ash asked, not even understanding why he had asked such a stupid question.
And as expected, Modric had no intention of answering his question.
"Take a guess." He gave a sly smile and continued to walk deeper into the narrow, dusty hallway.
Ash didn't say anything more and just followed his brother.
The group continued to walk deeper into the hallway, turning a few times, going up a few stairs and down a few, before finally stopping in front of a rusted door that looked like a cage for animals.
"We're here?"
"Yeah." Modric quickly opened the door and stepped inside, while his soldiers just stood outside without moving.
'This place is truly strange…' Ash didn't think anything more and walked inside.
***
At first, Ash had thought that the cell was only for dirty animals, and…he was right. This place was no different from a cage.
It was dirty, smelly, dark, and had no furniture. A place where no human could live. And even if they did, they would have gone mad by now.
As soon as Ash had completely entered, the soldiers outside abruptly closed the door, leaving them some privacy.
A moment later, the light hanging from the ceiling was finally turned on by Modric, and once it was turned on, Ash could see the entire cell clearly.
And to be honest, he would rather let himself get lost in the darkness than have to see the entire place because of its horror.
This cell was indeed very dirty, but not dirty because of the shit and trash were everywhere, but dirty because of the puddles of blood on the floor and the blood stains that had long been stuck on the walls.
Worse still, there were quite a few things around this place that looked like pieces of mushy meat, and Ash didn't bother to guess what kind of meat they were if he didn't want to have nightmares tonight.
"What the hell is this place, brother?"
"...This is a place to interrogate criminals and force them to reveal information necessary for our Empire." Modric replied in a calm tone, but somehow, Ash felt like he was feeling quite proud when he said those words.
But now, that didn't matter anymore.
"So where is the culprit?"
"Are you blind, my little brother? How did you become blind at such a young age?" Modric pointed to the corner of the cell.
Without hesitation, Ash also looked in the direction the Second Prince was pointing, and when he saw that scene, he couldn't stand any longer but fell straight to the floor.
"Wha…what…" Ash stuttered.
In the corner of the cell was a man who was covering himself with pieces of flesh that could be found all over this room.
His body was covered in blood and had wounds that were so horrifying that Ash couldn't even imagine.
In comparison, that man looked like a terrible nightmare. Even worse than that.
Modric smiled unfathomably at Ash's frightened sight.
"What's wrong? Are you scared already?"
Ash didn't reply, forcing himself to stand up because he didn't want to sit on that dirty floor for another second.
"Do you recognize him, my little brother?"
He looked at Modric, then turned his gaze to the man - whose eyes were still closed, probably sleeping - but still couldn't tell who he was.
That was only natural, Ash didn't have the memories of the Third Prince, thus, he might even mistake his father - the Emperor of the Empire - for some strangers.
"He's our uncle, Ash! Isn't it great!?" Modric started to smile hideously and viciously, looking like a villain.
But clearly in the game, he was a good person, right? Could this be Modric's dark side?
"Did our uncle try to kill me? But why?" Ash asked carefully, still being wary of the Second Prince.
"That's right, but I don't know the reason because he said he would say it if he met you. So you go ask him yourself."
Modric slowly walked towards the so-called "uncle", giving him a painful kick in the ribs, forcing him to wake up immediately.
"Bastard! You…" The man was about to curse the person who had just kicked him, but then immediately stopped.
The reason was not because he was afraid of Modric "Genius" Voidveil, but because he realized that Ash "Worthless" Voidveil was also present in this cell.
And as soon as he noticed that, his eyes began to become even more insane and uncontrollable.
"HAHAHAHA! LOOK WHO'S HERE? ISN'T THIS OUR USELESS THIRD PRINCE?"
"Why do you intend to kill me?" Ash did not show any interest in the man's provocative words.
"WHY? OF COURSE IT'S FOR OUR ABYSSAL ORGANIZATION! HAHAHAHA!"
Ash froze as he heard the name of the Abyssal Organization coming from the man's mouth.
Since Ash was a player, he knew that Organization better than anyone else in this world, after all, they were the main antagonists of the opening of the game False Horizon.
And this Organization was not a normal one, but an extremely crazy Organization, an Organization that worshiped the Abyssal Creature to the point of destroying the False Horizon for them.
In the game, the Abyssal Organization was the one who contributed a large part to the destruction of the False Horizon.
And now, a member of that Organization was sitting in front of Ash like this. Worse yet, they were planning to kill him despite knowing that he was the Third Prince of the Voidveil Empire.
'Damn it...'
What the hell did Ash get himself into?!?!?
