Episode 85: When Gods Fall

The world held its breath.

For the first time since creation cracked and flames began to whisper, silence ruled.

Not peace.

Not calm.

Just the kind of silence that comes before something sacred shatters.

Lucian stood with his hand still raised, his palm burned with the seal of finality. The Gate of Endings—shut.

The Origin Flame?

Gone… but not defeated. Not yet.

Seraphina slumped to her knees beside him, wings flickering like dying stars. "We… did it?"

Lucian didn't answer.

He was staring at the sky—at what was no longer there.

No stars.

No heavens.

Just a crack.

A wound across the sky, pulsing like a heartbeat on the verge of stopping.

Gabriel limped closer, his once-radiant armor scorched and broken. "You didn't just shut the Gate... you sealed it."

Lucian turned slowly. "Then why does it feel like we lost something?"

That's when the sky bled.

Dark crimson dripped from the crack above.

Each drop struck the earth like a war drum.

Boom.

Boom.

Boom.

Aureon screamed.

The boy floated again, his eyes wide, white, terrified.

> "You woke her."

"Who?!" Seraphina shouted, forcing herself to her feet.

But Aureon didn't answer with words.

He answered with a name—one that no tongue had spoken in over a million sunrises.

> "Yurelia."

The Mother of Flames.

The first creator.

The one even the Origin Flame feared.

Lucian whispered the name, feeling it cut his throat. "She's not just a goddess... she's the reason gods burned."

From the cracked sky, a hand emerged.

Slender.

Golden.

Dripping fire and stardust.

Seraphina's voice broke. "She's waking up to… punish us?"

Aureon was crying now. "No. She's waking up… to finish what she started."

The Moon Priests dropped to their knees in pure dread. Their chant faltered. Their runes dimmed.

Even the Chainbreaker, wild and fearless, stepped back.

"She's beyond fate," whispered Gabriel. "Beyond even Flame."

The world began to twist. Trees bent backwards. Rivers flowed into the sky. Time warped, collapsing in on itself.

Lucian took Seraphina's hand.

"If we fall…" he whispered, "we fall together."

"No," she said, her eyes fierce despite the trembling of her body. "We rise. Together."

From the sky, a voice fell.

Beautiful.

Terrible.

Motherly.

> "My children… still playing with fire?"

And Yurelia descended.

Clad in a gown woven from collapsed stars, her eyes held galaxies long extinct.

Every being dropped.

Every soul screamed.

Lucian stood.

He alone met her gaze.

Yurelia smiled faintly.

> "Let's see if the devil's bride… can dance with a mother's wrath."

To be continued…
