In his room, Cassian sat on a chair, writing at the table.
He was jotting down everything he knew about this world from the game.
Treasures, major events, characters and their behavior... he made sure to include it all.
After finishing, he stored the diary in his system inventory.
The reason he hadn't written all this down before? Well, he had simply forgotten.
And that was also why he was doing it now... to avoid forgetting anything important again.
He glanced at his bonded beast, Rea.
She was sleeping on the table, her body curled up peacefully.
He smiled and reached out, gently rubbing his thumb against her head.
As he continued rubbing, he muttered,
"Status."
[Name: Cassian Evros Myrr
Age: 15
Race: Human
Level: None (Not awakened)
Bloodline: ??? (Not awakened)
Curses: Serpent's Embrace, ???, ???
Bonded Beast: Rea
Stats:
Strength: 49 + 2 = 51
Agility: 67 + 3 = 70
Intelligence: 55 + 2 = 57
Endurance: 57 + 2 = 59]
Cassian sighed as he looked at his stats.
"I guess my free stat event is over," he murmured, slightly disappointed that he hadn't received a daily quest today.
He then checked the Bonded Beast section of his status and clicked on it.
[Bonded Beast]
Name: Rea
Race: Serpent
Affinity: Neutral
Evolution Level: 0
Potential: Mythical
Cassian smiled as he reviewed Rea's details.
Though it might seem underwhelming from the perspective of other games he used to play, this world was different.
He struggled to recall the exact name of the game [$@#$@/] he had been reincarnated into, but that wasn't important... at least not for now.
In this world, beasts could evolve their races.
At Evolution Level 0, all beasts remained in their base forms, such as goblins, simple snakes, or basic Raehorns.
Later, they could evolve into far more powerful forms.
If a beast was bonded, the bonded person could choose the pathway of its evolution.
In contrast, beasts without bonds evolved naturally, based on how they lived.
For example, Yuki, Elisa's Eclipse Cat, was at Evolution Level 1.
A normal cat could never evolve into an Eclipse Cat without bonding, as it required a specific balance of sun and moon energy over time.
And no one knew the exact timing of that balance, except for one… [Unknown]
He looked at Rea's affinity and smiled brightly again.
The fact that she had a neutral affinity was a significant advantage.
If Rea had a specific affinity, her evolution pathways would have been based on that affinity.
But now, Cassian had the freedom to choose the most suitable pathway for her growth.
Having a neutral affinity opened up the possibility of selecting pathways where Rea could eventually acquire more than one affinity.
Although beasts with specific affinities could also gain additional affinities, this usually happens at much later evolution levels... around Level 3 or 4.
Cassian leaned back in his chair, feeling satisfied.
And at last, he looked at her potential.
This world categorized beasts into five potential tiers, ranging from the lowest to the highest: Normal, Rare, Unique, Legendary, and finally, Mythical.
Normal potential allowed evolution only up to Level 2.
Rare potential extended this to Level 3,
while Unique potential enabled evolution up to Level 4.
Legendary potential granted the ability to evolve to Level 5,
and at the pinnacle was Mythical potential, allowing evolution up to Level 6.
From what he remembered of the game, certain that Eclipse Cat, Shadow Stalker, and Ember Crow had Legendary potential.
Meanwhile, the two dragons he recalled possessed Mythical potential, the rarest and most powerful tier.
Cassian smirked, feeling a sense of pride and anticipation as he glanced at Rea. Her Mythical potential set her apart, ensuring her path to greatness.
He then closed the system panel and stood up.
Rea had woken up due to his constant patting. Without a word, she curled around his wrist and fell asleep again.
As Cassian was contemplating what to do next, a knock on his door interrupted his thoughts.
"Come in," Cassian said.
The door opened slowly, and Kane entered. After bowing respectfully, he spoke, "Young Master, Master is calling you."
"Father?" Cassian asked, raising an eyebrow.
Kane nodded. Without further delay, Cassian followed him.
When they reached the door to Mark's office, Cassian knocked.
A deep voice responded, "Come in."
Kane opened the door for him, but instead of entering, he stayed outside and closed it once Cassian stepped in.
'Why didn't he come inside?'
Cassian thought. Usually, Kane would stand beside his father unless it was a private family moment.
As Cassian shifted his gaze to the center of the room, his suspicion was confirmed.
Elisa was sitting on Mark's desk, enthusiastically talking to their father about her cat.
"Father, you called me?" Cassian asked.
Mark looked at him and nodded. "Yes, I did. Come and sit here." He gestured to a chair.
Cassian walked over and sat down. Elisa, noticing him, hopped off the desk and sat in her own chair, her excitement still evident.
Once both were seated, Mark leaned back and started speaking.
"It's nothing too important," he began. "As you both know, Vivienne's birthday is next week—"
Elisa immediately nodded, interrupting him. "Of course! We know that already."
Mark smiled wryly at her enthusiasm. "Well, I just wanted to remind you that you'll both be attending."
Elisa rolled her eyes playfully. "Dad, even if you hadn't told us, we already knew that!"
Cassian nodded in agreement, staying silent.
Mark's expression twitched. Then he turned to Cassian and said with smile.
"There will be a pretty big surprise for you at the party, Cassian."
Elisa pouted. "What about me? I want a surprise too!"
Cassian's mind flickered with amusement. 'I'm pretty sure the one getting surprised will be you, Father', Cassian thought.
Outwardly, he gave a gentle nod, keeping his thoughts to himself.
