Then there was Kairos Flint's Mythic Sky ship behind it. Morgause's ship followed closely.
They sailed through the deep, stunning sea. Beneath the waves, the scenery was awe-inspiring, and as they advanced, Kairos and his companions admired the view.
Before long, their ship reached the New World. Fortunately, they were well-provisioned, thanks to the generosity of Neptune. Moreover, they had obtained a record pointer to the New World from him, eliminating any navigational worries.
Morgans's ship stayed a bit behind Kairos Flint's.
"Morgans, you know where the Navy's G-1 branch is located in the New World, right?" Kairos asked, turning to him.
Morgans looked startled. "You want to...?"
He looked at Kairos with a trembling voice.
"As you might've guessed. And such breaking news is worth at least a billion Berries, isn't it?" Kairos replied with a calm smile. This was something he had planned all along.
The Navy G-series branches were their bases within the Grand Line, mostly in the New World. They weren't as powerful as the Four Emperors, but they had been established with utmost effort, making them formidable bastions.
"Definitely worth it," Morgans said, his excitement barely contained. While Kairos's plan sounded insane, the news it promised was enormous.
"Then your ship will lead the way," Kairos added. "I don't have a record pointer to G-1."
He had brought Morgans specifically for this purpose. Without him, locating G-1 right after entering the New World would have required complex methods—maybe even impossible.
Morgans, the so-called News King, might not know everything, but his intelligence network spanned the globe. Kairos planned to leverage that—and profit from it.
"Sure," Morgans agreed easily. For him, this was a minor task. He quickly issued commands and arranged for navigation support.
Later that day, his contact arrived—not a human, but a bird.
The famous News Bird.
The News Bird delivered a box to Morgans, who passed it on to Kairos. Inside were multiple record pointers, one of which pointed directly to the Navy's G-1 branch.
"Mr. Kairos Flint, here you go," Morgans said, handing over the pointer.
As for leading the charge himself? Absolutely not. If the Navy or the World Government got wind that he guided Kairos to the G-1 base, they'd believe he was complicit in its destruction. That was a risk he wasn't willing to take.
Instead, he passed the pointer to Kairos, planning to follow from behind. When the battle started, he'd appear just in time to take some impactful photos. That would be more than enough.
Big news, after all, needed big moments.
Kairos was well aware of Morgans's scheming, but he didn't care. His goal was to use Morgans to circulate the news—his capture of Fish-Man Island, his assault on G-1, and his declaration of war against the Navy and the World Government.
Whether Morgans stood in front or behind was irrelevant.
The Mythic Sky changed course.
It now headed directly toward the G-1 branch, with Morgans's ship tailing behind.
The Navy G-1 Branch—
In the timeline two years later, Akainu would move the G-1 base to the location of the original Navy Headquarters to block pirate access to the New World. At that time, the commander would be Vice Admiral Onigumo, whom Kairos once injured.
But currently, the commander was Vice Admiral Malen.
The G-1 base, tucked in a remote region, saw little traffic. As a result, its defenses had grown lax. Observation posts existed, but due to the lack of attacks over the past decade, most marines were complacent.
In fact, the last real assault on the Navy was over twenty years ago—when the Golden Lion attacked the Navy Headquarters. Most of the current G-1 marines were either too young to remember or hadn't been stationed there yet.
So, when a fast-approaching ship was seen cutting across the waves—followed a few hundred meters behind by another—no alarms were raised. One marine, stationed in a watchtower, sat half-asleep, yawning in his chair.
He didn't even notice what was coming.
On the Mythic Sky:
"Nami, give the Navy a surprise," Kairos ordered calmly.
He wasn't suited for long-range attacks—his sword strikes were limited in reach. Nami, however, had gained powers far superior to his in that regard. Her Devil Fruit ability, synthesized with the power of Naruto Uzumaki's Nine-Tails chakra, made her a formidable long-range fighter.
"Leave it to me," Nami responded, activating her Nine-Lama Mode.
Whether the chakra was tied directly to her fruit or converted from her physical stamina didn't matter. It was a product of Kairos's Gold Finger power, and it worked brilliantly.
Nami looked majestic in Nine Lama Mode. She had trained hard to master it, and now, she entered the full-tailed beast transformation.
A massive fox made of chakra rose into the sky.
It consumed enormous amounts of energy, but Nami's body—having reached imperial-level strength—could handle it.
The fox opened its mouth, gathering Yin and Yang chakra in an 8:2 ratio to form a Tailed Beast Bomb.
The bomb flew toward the G-1 branch, closing the distance rapidly.
From the base, some of the higher-ranked marines sensed the danger too late.
They felt an overwhelming pressure.
"Incom—"
Before they could finish shouting the warning, the Tailed Beast Bomb struck the base's central building.
BOOM!!!!
A deafening explosion erupted, and a towering mushroom cloud rose high above the base.
Eighty percent of the G-1 base was obliterated in an instant, leaving only fragments of its foundation.
"Cough... What just happened?!"
Vice Admiral Malen crawled from the wreckage, bloodied and burned. Moments before impact, he had glimpsed the attack and instinctively activated his Observation and Armament Haki, which allowed him to shield himself in time—barely surviving.
Even with all that, the explosion was too close. His injuries were severe.
"Who... Who did this?!"
It was undeniably an enemy attack. The destruction was immense. Those who weren't killed outright were severely injured. Only those farthest from the impact escaped with minor wounds.
Meanwhile, Kairos Flint's ship docked nearby.
And Morgans?
He was thrilled.
He'd taken dozens of photos already, and his camera clicked away like mad.
"Big news, big news! This story is worth every one of those billion Berries!"
In his mind, headlines were already forming:
"God-Slayer Kairos Declares War on the Navy!"
"The Fifth Emperor Emerges!"
"G-1 Base Obliterated in First Strike!"
This news would shake the world. Kairos had chosen open war with the World Government and the Navy.
And Morgans? He'd fuel the flames.
He planned to spice up the report, inflaming tensions and ensuring an even bigger war. More war meant more news.
As for friendship with Kairos?
Forget it. They were business partners—nothing more.
If Kairos was a tool to make headlines, then so be it.
