That's right.
The alliance between Kairos Flint and Morgans was always one of convenience, grounded firmly in mutual interest. If someone dangled a better offer in front of Morgans, he wouldn't hesitate to abandon Kairos in an instant.
That was just how the world worked.
After all, all the commotion in the world is for profit—and all the frenzy in the world, the same.
Morgans was no exception.
—
Soon, Kairos and his companions landed ashore.
The G-1 Naval Branch base was situated on an island that wasn't particularly large—roughly the same size as Marineford, the Navy's headquarters.
As they docked, they disembarked without delay.
Their presence didn't go unnoticed.
"Enemies! We're under attack!"
A panicked voice rang out among the navy soldiers. Once the alarm was raised, it spread like wildfire. Several marines turned toward them with murderous intent, some already reaching for their weapons.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Gunshots erupted as navy soldiers pulled their triggers, bullets flying toward Kairos and his group.
None of them moved to dodge.
In a flash, Weiwei transformed into her BattleGreymon form. The Shield of Courage detached from her back and flew in front of them, locking into a defensive position. Energy from the surrounding air coalesced into a barrier in front of the shield—an impenetrable wall. The bullets clinked harmlessly against it.
"Weiwei," Kairos said coolly, his gaze flat, "Teach them a lesson."
Although Weiwei had once been a kind-hearted princess, the trials she had endured since meeting Kairos had hardened her. The girl who would have hesitated to fight was gone.
Now, she moved without question.
"Power of Gaia!"
After blocking sixteen bullets, Weiwei withdrew the shield and flew high into the sky. She raised her hands, channeling atmospheric energy into a massive energy sphere—colossal enough to block out the sun for anyone underneath it.
Then she launched it.
The giant orb hurtled toward the densest concentration of navy forces.
BOOM!!!
A second explosion erupted—a towering mushroom cloud rising beside the fading blast of the Tailed Beast Bomb that had struck moments earlier.
The scene was apocalyptic.
Anyone who had barely survived the first attack had no chance now.
Navy soldiers were obliterated.
Even lieutenants, captains, or low-tier admirals couldn't hope to walk away unscathed from that.
One strike from the Tailed Beast Bomb.
One strike from the Power of Gaia.
Over half the stationed forces of G-1 Branch were wiped out in moments.
When the dust began to settle, only a tenth—maybe a fifth—of the G-1 personnel were still alive.
"Aaaahh!!! Who are you?!"
A hoarse scream rang out from the ruins.
Vice Admiral Barron had survived—barely. He hadn't been at the blast's epicenter, so he escaped with minor injuries. But the sight before him was nothing short of hellish.
Tears of rage and despair filled his eyes.
Kairos and his group approached silently.
As they drew near, Barron's expression shifted from horror to recognition.
"God-Eater… Kairos Flint!"
The name escaped his lips like a curse.
Of course—who else could cause such devastation? G-1 wasn't the first to fall under Kairos Flint's wrath. And Barron knew they were far less important than the Celestial Dragons. Compared to them, the G-1 Branch was little more than a pawn.
Kairos didn't hesitate when he acted.
He never had.
"You… why attack the G-1 Branch?" Barron demanded, knowing deep down that he wouldn't live to report the answer.
Kairos didn't lie.
"The World Government placed a bounty on me," he said calmly. "I'm here to convince them to cancel it—and get compensated for the emotional damage while I'm at it."
Barron's face twisted with fury.
Damn the World Government.
If they hadn't issued that bounty, this massacre would never have happened.
"You think the World Government will revoke your bounty just because you wiped out one base?" Barron scoffed, still holding onto his pride.
But Kairos just smiled faintly.
"If they don't care about G-1, then I'll hit G-2. And G-3. Then G-4, G-5… as many as it takes."
"If the World Government thinks they can afford the cost, I'll be happy to keep going."
That cold, determined resolve left no room for doubt.
Barron exhaled slowly.
"A man like you… if you feared the World Government, you wouldn't have dared to touch the Celestial Dragons."
He had given up hope of surviving.
If he weren't injured, he might still try to escape—but now, there was no chance.
Kairos drew the Third Generation Oni Blade from his hip.
"You've said your piece. Time to go, Vice Admiral Barron."
"I'll send your men to keep you company soon."
Barron clenched his fists.
"Then let me see the true strength of the God-Eater!"
He charged, summoning all the strength he could muster.
Armament Haki activated.
Navy Six Styles: Tempest Kick!
A blade-like shockwave shot toward Kairos, cloaked in Haki.
But Kairos was faster.
A blade of flowing light!
In a single, blinding flash, Kairos's sword pierced Barron's heart. The Admiral's attack evaporated, cut clean through by the god-slayer's strike.
The light in Barron's eyes faded as he collapsed.
Kairos calmly sheathed his sword.
Nearby, Morgans was furiously snapping pictures, documenting the exact moment the G-1 commander was slain. He wanted every angle—this was headline gold.
A system prompt appeared in Kairos's vision:
[Pickable Items Detected. Pick up?]
"Pick up."
Ding!
Legendary Body Crystals ×3
Legendary Soul Crystals ×4
Legendary Talent Crystals ×6
Legendary Physical Skills Crystals ×5
Items stored in Portable Space.
The haul was excellent—especially the five physical skill crystals. They would let Kairos push his already imperial-level Taijutsu to the next tier.
With eight epic physical skill crystals now in his possession, he was one step away from elevating his technique to the level of a true god.
But he hadn't acted alone.
Much of the base's destruction came from Nami and Weiwei. Their combined efforts accounted for more than half the enemy casualties.
Kairos's eyes landed on a trembling navy soldier who had somehow survived.
"Hey, kid. Come here."
He pulled a sealed envelope from his inventory and tossed it to the stunned marine.
The soldier caught it instinctively.
"Wh-what is this…?"
"You'll deliver that to the Five Elders of the World Government," Kairos said, his tone devoid of emotion.
The message was simple:
I'm coming for you.
"I-I-I understand!" the soldier stammered.
"Let's go," Kairos said, turning away.
The mission was complete.
The Navy's G-1 Base lay in ruins. He had declared war on the World Government, enhanced his reputation, and earned a trove of ability crystals.
Every goal had been achieved.
"Move out."
Morgans followed closely, packing away his camera gear. He wasn't staying behind. He'd overheard Kairos's conversation with Barron—and he knew this was only the beginning.
The G-1 Branch was the first. It wouldn't be the last.
Soon, Kairos and his crew boarded the Mythic Sky and lifted off.
The only thing left behind was the shattered remains of a naval stronghold—and a terrified marine holding a letter destined for the highest echelons of power.
