Chapter 7 - :Aiden and Eva

Outside a two-story building that looked like an abandoned house in the streets, a delivery bus parked in front of it.

When the man came out with his blue cap, he surveyed the area, then hit the truck twice as if making a signal.

After the three sounds, a big muscular man tore a hole in the van and came out feeling refreshed. He was dressed like some kind of prisoner.

"Hey Goliath, what the hell, man? There's a door, you know," the bus man yelled, looking at the huge hole in his van.

"Tsk. We'll hijack another one, man. Stop yelling at him," said Einstein, a villain with his whole body sewn together.

Currently, his hand was crawling around his body before he attached it back to his wrist, leaving the sew line visible. He also came out of the hole.

"Hijack? Are you crazy? This is a hero organization van meant for the Class A-1 students. Where would we hijack another from?"

"Well, Class A-1 are taking a nap, so mind your words or you'll likely join them," said Einstein. A black fog appeared on his palm, where Class A-1 students were tied against a withered tree.

"Hell yeah, next is gonna be those Class A-2 kids." Accompanying Goliath's words, he crunched his knuckles with a grin.

The only person that came out through the van was Ghostness, a female adorned in purple-black clothing with a hood.

She was literally a ghost—couldn't be seen or touched unless made visible. Capable of possessing and killing someone from the inside.

"That's enough, boys," said Ghostness, the assigned leader of this mission.

She made herself visible and walked past them. Then Goliath and Einstein followed behind her, while the bus man's eyes glowed red as he surveyed the area once more.

"All clear," he muttered.

Class A-1 had been led to slumber by Einstein, and the villains were now posing as the heroes, and Class A-2 were next.

Meanwhile...

After a series of driving and looking for Jeju Orphan Home, Aiden and Eva finally arrived at the orphanage home, at nearly midnight.

Unlike Aiden's luxurious mansion, the orphan home was more of a modest building. Though surrounded by glass buildings, it was just blending in.

It also had the name of the orphanage on top of it.

"It's getting dark, so the kids should be inside," said Eva.

Aiden just agreed with a nod, and they both walked inside, knocking at the door.

It took a few seconds, but the nanny eventually came to open the door.

"Yes, are you a couple? Have you come to adopt a child?" said the nanny.

Eva looked at Aiden, and then there was a notice board that said only couples wanting to adopt a child could come in. It seemed it didn't matter if young or old.

"Yes, he's my husband," said Eva, clawing her fingers with Aiden's, who was just looking at them with a bored expression.

"Please come inside."

With that, Aiden and Eva walked in. The house was more decent than it appeared on the outside. There were toys and kids running around.

"Well, we're looking for a particular child," said Eva.

"Oh, what is the child's name?"

Having heard that, Eva was left stunned by the question, unable to answer.

"Don't worry, I got ya. So I got the image of the kid from several of the phone calls that described him. I'll send you the photo," Asami clicked a few buttons.

"Oh, it was my idea, by the way," said Ray over the earphones.

Ding.

Aiden's smartphone beeped, and he just showed the nanny the image of a boy with spiked hair and a vandal mark on his forehead.

"Brett. This is Brett."

"Yes, ma'am, that's who we're looking for," said Aiden.

Somehow, what he said saddened the nanny's expression. She kept looking at the photo.

"He doesn't come anymore. His father dropped him a month ago and passed away."

Aiden knew too well that 'passed away' was Fallen's doing.

"After that, Brett was damaged. He ran away."

"Where is Brett?" asked Aiden in a more deadly and serious tone. Asking the question again with that tone made the nanny's eyes widen.

Eva looked at Aiden, wondering what his deal was. "Woah, Batman, she just said the kid isn't here," said Eva. "Thank you, nanny, we'll take our leave."

Without further action, Aiden just left the house with Eva.

"From the frequent calls about him, I think he'll come out again," said Aiden.

"Yeah, so?" asked Eva, resting against Aiden's red McLaren car.

Opposite the orphan home was a nice hotel building—the tallest and most expensive building on Jeju Street.

"We'll be renting ourselves a hotel room."

"What? Well, it's a different room then," Eva scoffed. "Pervert."

Aiden said nothing, and they both crossed toward the flashy building.

Entering inside, Aiden was the one to meet with the receptionist.

"How many hotel rooms are left?" asked Aiden. The receptionist was about to say something, but under the glare from Aiden, he reshuffled his words.

"Well, I'm sorry, there's only one bedroom left, and there aren't any hotels in the area."

Hearing this, Eva's cheeks flushed red, but she hid it by scoffing. "What do you say?" asked Aiden.

"Obviously, we can't watch the building from somewhere else."

"One of us could," said Aiden.

"Well, I don't trust your eyesight. I have a better one, and I need backup in case anything happens."

Having heard that, Aiden smiled at the receptionist. "Thanks, we'll take the one-bedroom."

Eva couldn't believe it. While the receptionist was taking them to the room, she couldn't stop herself from naughty thoughts and her red, flushing cheeks.

'What is happening to me?' thought Eva.
