Chapter 32 - The magic crystal in the mirror

On the continent of Egendas, almost every human town has facilities such as mage guilds, swordsmen guilds, and mercenary guilds, enabling mages, swordsmen, mercenaries, and so on throughout the continent to form an effective and mutually interactive whole.

The Magic Guild of Stan City is located in the West District. From a distance, the mage's Guild does not look as grand and imposing as the domed building of the Mercenary Guild, nor as bustling as the Swordsmen's Guild. It is just a seemingly ordinary two-story building. Although mages are the most respected profession in the world, there are really too few people who can become mages. Among the hundreds of thousands of residents in Stan City, there are no more than a hundred mages.

Apart from the plain and unremarkable appearance of the guild building, the area in front of it is also very deserted.

Some magical items used by mages, such as parchment, magic ink, and wands, can only be purchased here. However, these items are often used by ordinary mages. As for the communication among mages on a daily basis, they usually have their own circles, unlike the swordsman's guild or the mercenary's guild, where they hold gatherings or challenge each other within the guild.

I want to buy a magic wand.

After leading Debbie into the hall of the Magic guild, Stephen glanced around and saw that inside the spacious and quiet hall, there was a lounge chair. An old man in a black magic robe was lying on it, holding a small pot of wine and humming a tune to himself. From time to time, he would take a sip. Stephen walked over and said softly.

The old man on the lounge chair was indifferent and took a sip of wine by himself. Only then did his eyes turn to Stephen, but his expression couldn't help but change: "Eh?" Are you the hammerhead?

Do you know me? Stephen was taken aback for a moment, thinking that although there were only about a hundred mages in Stan City, his name wouldn't be widely known, would it?

Hello, little brother. My name is Basgan. The old man jumped up quickly from the lounge chair, looking very eager. "The news that you defeated the fourth-order swordsman Kerry with a scroll has long spread throughout the entire city of Stan. And that old fellow of Buska even invited me to visit his good-for-nothing son. Of course I know your name."

"Hammerhead." Debbie whispered close to Stephen's ear. "I heard Dad mention the name Basgan. He's a fifth-order magician, very skilled in light element magic, and a famous magic doctor. He might grow up to be a priest in the future."

After becoming a high-level swordsman, swordsmen will differentiate into giant swordsmen, long swordsmen, etc. Mages also have similar classifications. Priest is one of the classifications that mages can choose after becoming high-level mages, and it is a type of mage skilled in light magic.

Meanwhile, Basgan also held an important position within the Magic Guild.

Debbie's words immediately made Stephen look at Basgan with even more respect: "Mr. Basgan, I want to buy a magic wand."

"I heard that you were kidnapped by Buska and his good-for-nothing son a while ago and were only rescued yesterday?" " Basgan didn't seem too surprised that Stephen was going to buy a wand. "Yesterday, the City Lord's Mansion sent me a message, knowing that your wand was destroyed. You'll come here to buy a new one. The City Lord's Mansion will cover the cost, so you can choose any wand you like."

"Really?" Hearing Basgen's words, Debbie's whole little face lit up with a bright smile. For a little girl, perhaps the happiest thing in the world is not spending money on things...

But Stephen wasn't happy at all. Oh my god, the promised compensation couldn't be dismissed with just a wand, could it?

Stephen is now just a junior magician. The magic wand used by junior magicians is not too expensive, only the price of a few silver coins. How could this sum of money compare to the compensation he expected?

Basgen didn't realize Stephen's unhappiness. With a smile on his face, he was about to walk towards the inner hall of the Wizards' Guild: "I'll go get my wand. You wait here for a moment."

"Eh?" At this moment, Debbie suddenly let out a soft cry.

What's wrong, little girl? Basgen seemed to have a good impression of this little girl carrying a hundred-pound sword as well, and asked with a smile.

Debbie pointed blankly at the mirror standing upright on one side of the hall, "It seems there's something in there."

Stephen also looked curiously at the mirror.

It was a full-length mirror as tall as a person, looking extremely ordinary. The figures of Stephen Debbie and Basgen were clearly reflected in it. But unusually, there was a blue object that seemed like crystal hanging in the mirror image. Stephen looked left and right and was quite sure that there was no such crystal in the real world.

Debbie waved her hand in front of her own eyes. She in the mirror waved her hand as well, and her palm seemed to pass through that crystal.

Does that crystal only exist in the mirror?

"Hehe." Seeing this, Basgen smiled and said, "That crystal is a magic crystal. It was put in by a senior mage who was visiting the mage's guild. It contains some of his insights on magic. Haha, whoever can take that crystal out of the mirror can own this magic crystal."

Basgen casually introduced something and glanced at Stephen again, saying, "You can give it a try too."

Saying this, he walked into the room beside the hall.

Although it was said that Stephen could also have a try, in fact, he didn't think Stephen could get the crystal inside.

This crystal was put into the mirror by very sophisticated spatial magic.

The high-level mage who recently visited the mage's guild is a ninth-level mage and is about to enter the specialized field. His status is extremely noble. The president of the Stan City Mage's Guild has always wanted this mage to take his son as a student. His son is also quite talented and has already become a third-level mage at the age of seventeen. However, this high-level mage is somewhat reluctant. After the president's repeated requests, the senior magician set up this difficult problem and declared that anyone who could take out that magic crystal from the mirror would be his student.

These days, quite a few mages have made attempts. Even Basgan himself has tried many times, but how could he possibly do it?

If the second-order magician hammer head can succeed... Hehe, the sun is probably going to rise in the west.

Stephen and Debbie in the hall couldn't think of this. They had thought it was just a very ordinary omen, probably a difficult problem set up by a magician out of interest, just a very ordinary form of entertainment. So, with the mentality of not wanting something for free, they immediately became eager to give it a try.

"Hammer head, hammer head, please give it a try quickly and see if it works." Debbie urged with great enthusiasm. She tried with her own little hands first, but her fingers could only touch the hard mirror surface and it was impossible for her to reach what was inside the mirror.

Stephen followed and reached out his hand. As expected, his hand touched the hard mirror surface, but Stephen's expression moved slightly: he saw a door.

Just like the same door when he tried to crack the Space ring.

The senior magician set up a spatial magic matrix on the mirror surface and stored the crystal in it with the help of this magic matrix.

Of course, the spatial magic matrix set up by this magician is much simpler than the matrix on the spatial ring. It is just a door, not a locked one. To enter this door, there is no need to crack the lock; just push the door open.

So, Stephen pushed open that door.

So, his hand reached deep into the mirror, as if the mirror had turned into a calm lake, and Stephen's hand reached into it.

So, he easily took out the magic crystal hanging inside.

"Hey?" Is this taken out? Debbie was immediately greatly disappointed. "Hammerhead, you're so stupid and you managed to take the thing out so easily. Then this thing must not be worth much."
