The missiles hurtling toward them were massive. If they struck, Mar-Vell's laboratory would be completely obliterated.
Facing this imminent threat, Marcus's energy began to condense. He activated Void Grasp instantly, creating large tendrils of void energy that formed into spheres floating around him.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The spheres released powerful beams of void energy, intercepting the incoming missiles.
His hands moved continuously as he pointed at missiles approaching from the front. Denial activated immediately, projecting a concentrated void beam from his fingertips that detonated the lead missile.
The explosion triggered a chain reaction, detonating the missiles behind it. A magnificent flower of flame bloomed in the vacuum of space.
Carol flew at tremendous speed, carrying Marcus with her. After tossing him onto Ronan's command ship, she veered toward another vessel that was still launching missiles.
"Is this really Ronan the Accuser's ship?" Marcus looked around, unimpressed. "Not much different from Mar-Vell's laboratory."
Though equipped with numerous weapons, the vessel couldn't compare to Mar-Vell's cruiser in either appearance or size.
"Let's pay Ronan a visit."
With the Tiger shotgun resting on his shoulder, Marcus strode confidently through the ship.
Not far ahead, a squad of heavily armed Kree soldiers appeared.
"Hi there! Lovely morning, isn't it?"
Marcus greeted the soldiers cheerfully. Before they could open fire, he discharged the Tiger, unleashing countless shards of shrapnel.
The Tiger, enhanced with an amplification crystal, already possessed tremendous destructive power. Add to that the Truth Whisper Marcus had activated, coating the shrapnel with void energy, and the result was devastating.
With just two shots, the soldiers were reduced to bloody fragments.
The moment the soldiers fell, alarms blared throughout the ship.
"Let the hunt begin!"
After reloading the Tiger, Marcus continued his advance. Whenever he encountered soldiers, he immediately pulled the trigger, dispatching them with brutal efficiency.
Leaving a trail of bodies in his wake, he successfully reached the vessel's control room.
Bang!
The control room door was riddled with holes from a single blast and kicked open by Marcus.
Reaching for more ammunition, he discovered he'd depleted the Tiger's shells.
Slinging the shotgun across his back, Marcus drew his twin Rex pistols and focused on the figure standing at the front of the bridge.
"Enjoying the view, Ronan?"
As he spoke, the Rex pistols spat fire, void-enhanced bullets killing the crew members operating the ship.
This indiscriminate slaughter instantly enraged Ronan. He swung his war hammer, bringing it down toward Marcus with devastating force.
Facing this attack, Marcus's entire body surged with energy. The next moment, his body seemed to explode as Super-Dimensional Purgatory activated, the blast knocking Ronan backward.
However, Ronan was far more formidable than Yon-Rogg. Not only did he command a fleet capable of planetary destruction, but his personal combat abilities were exceptional.
Energy radiating from his hammer formed a protective shield that repelled the attack from Marcus's Super-Dimensional Purgatory.
"So you're a hammer enthusiast. Want me to find you a construction job?"
Marcus, now transformed into an energy skeleton, moved with increased agility. The weapons in his hands changed from the Rex pistols to his energy blade.
Ding~
Though both weapons were energy-based, they made a crisp metallic sound upon collision. Where hammer met blade, void energy spread to counter the hammer's emissions, forming a pure white curtain of light.
"You slaughtered my Kree warriors. For that, you and the planet below will pay dearly!"
The hammer's energy intensified. Ronan intended to destroy this energy skeleton, then annihilate Earth.
"Oh, you think you're capable of that?"
Marcus stomped forward and charged. The energy blade in his hand unleashed massive amounts of void energy as he slashed repeatedly at Ronan.
His attacks incorporated techniques reminiscent of a falcon's precision strikes—continuous slashes followed by stabbing thrusts from multiple angles.
The ferocious assault overwhelmed Ronan's hammer, its energy dissipating against the void-infused attacks.
When the hammer struck the deck, instead of its usual devastating attack, it merely dented the metal flooring.
"Careful there! If you wreck this ship, the Supreme Intelligence might leave Hala just to kick your ass with its fancy shoes!"
Marcus taunted Ronan viciously, his translated words perfectly clear. His attacks never ceased. His form was illuminated by the energy blade's glow, appearing to Ronan like a relentless falcon.
"I'll kill you!"
Ronan swung the hammer again. Powerful energy erupted from the weapon, cracking the ship's structure. The energy followed the fracture lines toward Marcus.
The hammer's energy was indeed formidable, but this attack proved almost useless against Marcus.
He bent his knees and jumped, swinging his energy blade to release several arcs of sword energy.
Seeing Marcus projecting energy attacks, Ronan raised his defensive shield again, attempting to withstand the assault.
"Unparalleled Slash!"
With a roar, Marcus swung the energy blade in a decisive strike.
The blade crashed against Ronan's energy shield with tremendous force, shattering the already weakened barrier. The remaining sword energy carved wounds across Ronan's body.
Blue blood seeped from the gashes, leaving Ronan stunned. He, wielding a Universal Weapon, was being overwhelmed by this skeletal adversary.
Just then, Carol flew to the ship. Having destroyed another vessel, she now intended to confront Ronan, the Kree Empire's infamous Accuser.
Seeing Carol radiating with energy, Ronan slowly backed away. The Universal Weapon released energy that enveloped him.
"Hmph, you may be powerful, but the weapons of the Kree Empire will ultimately return to the Kree Empire!"
As he finished speaking, his body vanished within the Universal Weapon's energy. The fleet vessels flickered with light before disappearing from the solar system.
"Running away already?"
Marcus raised his eyebrows in surprise. Wasn't Ronan supposed to be a planet-destroying fanatic? Why would he retreat after merely seeing Carol?
Though puzzled by his opponent's reasoning, Marcus had no choice but to accept the outcome. The universe was vast—how could he know where Ronan had fled? He couldn't exactly chase him all the way to Hala.
While Marcus would have enjoyed turning the Supreme Intelligence into a glorified computer terminal, such ambitions couldn't be realized overnight. Venturing to Hala now would be suicide.
"Well, at least I got a spaceship out of it!"
The vessel was impressive. If he wanted to travel through space in the future, this would make an excellent transportation option.
After signaling to Carol through the viewport, they soon returned to Mar-Vell's cruiser.
"Now it's over," Marcus surveyed the area. "Where are the Kree bodies? Their equipment is quite valuable."
"They're still in the laboratory," Fury replied, holding Goose while eyeing the now-normal Marcus with curiosity. "You're... really not an alien?"
His question wasn't merely curiosity but stemmed from shock at Marcus's transformation. Marcus had proven far more powerful than the Skrulls, instantly transforming from human to an energy skeleton surrounded by fragments.
